My Local Cash Converters, Random Stuff, Worth Anything?
« on: April 15, 2006, 11:14:33 pm »
There is a Cash Converters not far from me, and if anyone doesn't know of Cash Converters, it is where you can buy and sell basically anything to a place, that then sells that same stuff to other people, pretty simple, anyway, they have some old video game stuff that seems like it may be cheap, and off the top of my head I was just wondering if:

1.  Any of this stuff was worth anything:

Phillips CDI system with controller and games

Atari Joysticks

Atari Paddle controller

2.  If there was anything in that genre anyone wanted me to look for on my occasional stops there, I never know what may turn up.

The Cdi systems go for around $25-30 on Ebay, so not very good unless you really want that weird cartoon Zelda game.  :D

I dunno about your CC but the one here (in Canada) is a complete rip-off. Ridiculous prices on used crap. Most of the chain has died off here. Only a couple left here and there surviving through miracles, or Ebaying for people too dumb to do it themselves.

Example from a couple years ago:
DVD movie Titan AE:
 - Brand new at Walmart: $6.86
 - Used at Cash Converters: $11.00

NO MORE!!

That's great, but your Cash Converters in Canada is not the same as mine in Pennsylvania, as I have come across some pretty good deals at mine, the trade in values are not great, but the prices on many items are, i mean, they have had stuff like a 17 inch working computer monitor for $4.99, small set of computer speakers for $2.00, and I have gotten good deals on paintball stuff as well.  I was just simply stating that if someone has something they would like me to keep an eye out for, that someone might find laying around and trade in there, let me know.

CC is a RIP OFF....Used 17" Monitor $200.00 while you could buy a new one for $180.00 (back then).
Joystick cables CC asking price $4.00, in the Dollar store $1.00. I tried something with the guy and told him that I have TONS of Joystick cables (NEW) and told him to just give me $1.50 each (hehe, it was just next door, the Dollar store), he just laugh at me.
Bottom line is just if you don't know the price of a new on in the store, you will get rip off at CC.
