hi to all on byoac
A question from a newb.
Having looked across this site i now have a serious need to build a desktop control panel(not told the missus yet lol).
Anyway here is my starting plans ,any help would be much appreciated
2 4/8 way switchable joysticks or 2 8 way + 1 4 way with or without top button???
2 player both 7 buttons
trackball/mouse 2 buttons
p1 p2 buttons
2 credit buttons
escape/tab buttons
spinner (+ extra buttons ???)
#maybe side pinmame buttons

Can i have 1 encoder eg ipac/keywiz to run all these inputs or will i need a seperate device for the spinner/trackball
------------------------------
constructive criticism welcome

You can use an Opti-Pac from Ultimarc to hook up the spinner and trackball. It can accept 4 input Optical devices.

You probrably can do away with all buttons other than the 7 each for P1 and P2 and P1 and P2 start buttons if you use the I-Pac as you can have use the Shift function to access most admin buttons you'll need.

You can also have the P1 Buttons 1 2 and 3 buttons be used as Trackball buttons by conecting these buttons to both the I-Pac and the Opti-Pac...

Have fun...

Vids:  Home built MAME machine, Crystal Castles. Arkanoid
Pins:   Williams Aztec (working). Stern Nugent (not working...yet), Williams Phoenix (major not working, missing parts.... )

Always on the lookout for buying 90's game with Ramps that need work...

I agree. It is... (<- dramatic pause) a sickness. Somewhat contagious. No cure I know of, except one. Build.

I built a desktop. It worked great. But it only curbed the appitite for a while. Then the desease really hits. Yes go to bed early... visions of cabinets danced in their heads.
