i-paq and P360
« on: November 11, 2005, 03:07:55 pm »
I've searched everywhere...Where the heck do you hook up the 5v wire from the P360 to the I-paq?

Where is the 5v tab on the I-paq?

There are 2 wires (com and nc) from each microswitch hooked up to current joystick

which one of these goes to the P360? (since the p360 only has 1 connector for each direction)

thanks and sorry for the dumb questions ???

Connect the red (+5) and black (Ground) leads of the p360 to the the +5 and Gnd pins of the 10 position header of the IPAC...

the pinout is here:
http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac2.html

Then connect each 360 terminal "UP","DOWN","LEFT","RIGHT" to the appropriate pin on the IPAC.

thats it.
Happy Gaming!

I think Im kinda screwed.  Since I have Competitions already hooked up to the SlikStik, I would screw up all the daisy chains from the nc connectors from each microswitch once hook up only one wire to the p360.

just take the COMPS out and put the 360 in its place. take all the COM and twist it (duno how slik wired it) and have one of it go to the 360 COM (-) and the rest of the wires go to UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT. Then take the +5v

 ???

Im even more confused...I don't know where the 5v tab is on the Ipaq....

I don't see a p360(-)

The only thing  I know is where the black (ground) wire goes from the P360...

Why aren't there any diagrams ANYWHERE on how to hook these things up?

The problem is I never actually hooked up my own joysticks..I replaced them but that was a simple as pulling out the connector on the old joy and replacing on the new

I had the slikstik illuminated balltops sucking my +5v so I just used a computer molex for the +5v for my 360's.  Works fine, dont know if it matters or not but I also used the molex for the ground on the 360's

Like Retro said, the pinout is here.
http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac2.html

Scroll about 3/4 of the way down.

Probably the easiest way to hook it up is to find an old computer case and take out of the LED wires that has a 2 pin jumper on the end (Used to connect to the motherboard).
