I had a great experience a while back buying from an ebay trader (username cointechtexas). I got some joysticks from him that didn't have the 4-way actuators (they worked fine as 8 way, just not 4 way), so I asked him about it and within a week he sent me a pair of the 4-way actuators (for free, no shipping or anything, just to make sure I was happy). He really went the extra mile, so I would feel bad if I didn't mention him here on the boards (I know he's been mentioned before, someone here sent me his link a while back when I was looking for arcade parts, they said they had good experiences with him too).

I remember that some time ago a guy called Birdtales from this board sold me an Oscar 4-way restrictor plate and some red ball top Wico style handles.

Actually 'sold' is the wrong word because he refused to take any payment, not even shipping! What makes this act of altruism even more remarkable is that he lives in the States and I live in England!

Unfortunately, AFAIK he hasn't visited this board for some time. But I'd definitely have no hesitation in buying anything from him again (even if he wanted to be paid!).

If I not mistaken, BirdTales also gave away a Frontline controller when someone was asking about one.

Let me again give this thread a bump by reiterating what a great deal Gozur gave me on a controller shell. Wow! I cant say enough good things about this transaction. Not only did I get the controller for a fair price but he lost money on the shipping of the item and gave it to me for the original price anyway. Again, do not hesitate to deal with this guy.

I received my hacked DC pads from Hiub1 today. I haven't had a chance to test them but I have no doubt they work. He did an awesome job on them and even labeled the wires for me (which is great cause I can be lazy.) Thanks again Fred.

Well, I have two things to add here. Number one, I think that this thread deserves a spot all to itself similar to the Congo line thread. I have done several transactions on here and I think we need a place to freely post our experiences with other forum members similar to Ebay feedback. Hell, theres a member selling a 700.00 computer, and before I go shelling out 700.00 I'd like to see what other ppl have experienced with a seller. 'Nuff said.

Number two, a second great transaction with _KidKye_ aka Troy D. Patterson. The guy sent me money instantly with Paypal when he bought my control panel and shipped the mini-itx mobo to me in days instead of weeks. Do no hesitate to buy from or sell to Troy, he is a good guy.

Another option would be to employ a seller/buyer/trader rating system. There are add on modules for alot of board like this. So in effect with that and a subforum under buy/sell/trade you could have a feedback system similar to ebay.

I'd also HIGHLY recommend the use of heatware.com... I believe it's mentioned in this thread already, but I'll repeat it. It's an excellent (and free) third party reference site.
