Cant get my credit board to work, help
« on: July 31, 2005, 01:26:56 pm »
Have converted a Jamma cab to a Mame cab, and wanted to still use the electronic coin mech, i believe its a Mars Electronics MS115, attached to a Shefras Green Board (credit board). I have attached the yellow (+12v), and one of the black gnd wires from the credit board to my PCs power supply but i cant get it to work, i have the jumper settings for the coins, so i dont think its down to that, and i know it worked before i converted the cab. I dont even know it the board is getting any power to it, is there a way to find out? I have noticed that there seems to be another GND wire attached to the credit board, would it make a difference if i attach this to the PC power supply as well?

Heres a pic of the board if it helps?

Im having trouble making out what the markings say on the broad, i know the yellow & black wires screwed into the terminal at the top of the picture (marked Coin2) are +12v & GND, next to them appears to be MTR, N/O, and i can make out what the last one is, ON or something! Then the terminal on the right of the picture marked Coin 1, had no wires attached to it. Do i need to do anything else with these wires?

IPAC are +5 vdc. You are applying 12vdc to your board. Make sure its not gonna fry the encoder.

No it wont, ive completly removed all +5V and +12V going to the jamma connection. The Credit board is +12v as it had the yellow wire going to it, which was connected to the +12v terminal on the multi power supply which i removed when i first go the cab!

Ive worked out where the wires go now, the wire that is marked MTR goes to the counter underneither the coin box, and the other 2 wires marked N/O & NO?? go the the Jamma connection. its getting power to the coin mech, as when i disconnected the +12v wire from the PC power supply every coin i put in came out the return slot, but as soon as i plug it back in the coins went to the coin bank! So somewhere along the line its not relaying to the game that coins are being inserted?? Is there an option within mame i need to change for it to register the coins being put in?
