PS/2 interfaced trackball in DOS
« on: June 03, 2005, 01:31:38 pm »
This may be a silly question, but I've been looking around the forums and I've found a few posts where people have had trouble with their USB - PS/2 interfaced trackball in DOS.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I just want to know because I was thinking about getting one of these balls, but I could just as easily save a few bucks and do the hack if it will work better.

Thanks!

Right, I would use the PS/2 connector on the trackball since DOS doesn't seem to have any USB support.  Someone was saything that the trackball slowed gameplay in some of their games.

I'm pretty sure the problems I've read about go beyond the sensitivity options.  The above link is an example.

I can't speak for HAPPS but I can for the Betson/Imperial 3" PS2 trackball. I never had problems with under pure DOS, CTMOUSE.EXE, Advmame. All trackball games run smoothly in my 3.0 cpu system, even on my old setup 1.9 Intel ROMBUS System.

Well that's pretty reassuring.  Thanks for the input!
