MAMEWAH config list generation?
« on: March 27, 2005, 08:46:27 pm »
I recently got around to using screamings new MAMEWAH configurator.  I used the first version, which worked great, got my romlists up and running.  I then tried using MCM to remove the adult and mahjong games, and afterward I went back into the config program to generate an updated list; however, the -listxml vs. ROM Folder only generated 7 Roms, all of which were games with Numbers as the starting title (i.e. 720).  I am not sure if I had updated to the newest mamewah config, however, I made sure I updated; same error.  I then tried reinstalling my roms, as I thought MCM may have changed something, same problem.  Is my issue with my setup (external hard drive with mame + roms +artwork), or mamewah config?  If I do just Rom Folder, I get all my roms, but not with the display names (just filename).  If i do Rom Folder vs. Listxml I get the aforementioned 7 roms.  I tired searching, but no one has any similar problems, I tried exporting to a Dat and doing a DAT vs. Rom Folder but got nothing.  Any suggestions?  ???

Sorry it's taken me a couple days to reply.. Did you figure this out yet?  I've never used MCM before, but in MAMEWAH Config, not only will you need to re-generate your default list, you'll have to edit all your gamelists for MAME too and add all the ROMs (or delete all your game lists and recreate them - no big deal unless you've customized them a lot).

I tried deleting then recreating the game lists and also tired manually adding all the ROMS, the config program has no problems with finidng all the Roms with the Rom folder only option, but when it runs that vs. listxml it seems to only see the 7 games I mentioned before (all games are ClrmamePro verified)-Im not real sure why this happened...Screaming do u happen to have the older version of MAMEWAH config?  Maybe if I go back to using the older version itll work. Or if anyone has an .NMS file I could use?

I may have found the problem.

Try using this version instead, and please let me know if it fixes your problem!

Yeah, it happened when I updated MC to make gamelists that look more like MAMEWAHs, with capital ROM names, etc.

I'll be making another small update to MAMEWAH Config soon that will fix this and a couple other small things.  Also, I should have a spiffy new cp editor based on CPMaker that will make it ALOT easier to define your MAMEWAH controller files.  Soon though... Soon.
