Wanted: help with MAME in NJ
« on: January 05, 2005, 03:29:59 pm »
Hello.  I am in NJ (near Vineland) and am in need of the following services:

1)  Correct the current issues with my 1st MAME machine.  It seems to be small stuff like sideways screens, not all the roms work, outdated, etc.  Someone else configured it for me so I don't have much of an idea of how it operates internally; he was not very reliable so I am looking for someone else.  I do know it has a P3 and an ATI all-in-wonder card (video?) and an optipac (I bought that stuff before he configured it).

2)  I have another MAME cabinet which is a jamma cabinet that I have an extra computer for (Emachines T1440, ethernet, 40GB, CD-RW, 1.4GHz celeron).  I would like that set up as well but I didn't buy any other parts yet; I don't want to get the wrong things.

3)  Before the Emachine becomes "extra" the data from it would need to be transferred to a new Dell I just bought (P4, DVD+RW, etc.)

I would like to learn to do this stuff someday but it is just not in my time schedule right now.  If anyone is interested in providing the above services at my home please let me know.  I will gladly pay you for your time, gas, parts, etc.  I would really like to get my machines up to par.

You can contact me at vanbar6@comcast.net

Thanks,
Barb

Nah not really; I'd rather watch how it's done so I can learn.  Also, I'd prefer not to lug all those computers around.  Thanks for the offer though.

This might matter to some...

Please check my feedback rating on ebay (vanbar6) which I think indicates that I am dependable for payment.

No, actually it sounded terrible but I'll live.  $100 plus parts; if you get everything finished that same day I'll throw in $50 more.  Email me and I'll give you my cell # if you'd care to discuss it futher.

Is that a fair offer?  I am not familiar with how long it will take to do the tasks I mentioned.  Please let me know what a fair price would be.
