IPAC4 losing its settings???
« on: November 22, 2004, 10:00:02 am »
I have an IPAC4 hooked up to my control panel which contains 4 Ultimarc J-Sticks. Players 1 & 2 have 7 buttons and players 3 & 4 have 3 buttons each. I have a p1-p4 start and i have 2 coin doors(4 coin inserts). I am running mame32 for now. My problem is that since i've had the ipac4(roughly 2 months), it seems to have lost its settings twice w/in a couple days. What happened all of a sudden was that adding a coin in the player 3 slot was adding it to player 1. i went into the ipac 4 utility program and changed player 3 coin up back to what it was and it worked. then a day later, neither player 3 or player 4 would coin up. If I go in and change it back it works fine but it seems to be losing its settings. Anyone had this happen or have any suggestions?

I gonna speak about my ipac-4 cause thats the one I have and dunno ifs been changed with the new one. But in my IPAC-4 I have to set the jumper to ALT so I can re-program the default values to what I want. Is there a jumper setting on your Ipac-4 ? if so, just make sure its set to ALT so it could be re-program to whatever value you want.

If everything is ok in the IPAC-4, then maybe you need to delete the NVRAM, CFG of the games your having problems with.

I don't need to move a jumper to program mine. See, i know it's programming correctly b/c it's worked since the beginning of october with no problems after i reprogrammed some keys. All of a sudden this coin issue happened. i'm lost on this one.
