Coin Door Credit Question
« on: September 03, 2004, 01:48:27 am »
I have read the Newbie area for wiring up the coin door and I understand that the coin door switches need to be connected to an I-PAC for credits...  This works for people who want to drop coins in their cabinets to get credits.

I'm curious is anyone has ever connected a switch to the coin rejector button so that when that is pressed it would register a credit. I don't want to have a bunch of buttons cluttering up my CP and I don't want to have a shifted key sequence that may be confusing to some people wanting to play...

I want a similar experience of bending to insert a coin without actually putting one in.  I would also prefer to not simply put a button next to the coin door.  Sorry if I sound picky, but I know what I want to do, I just want to know if someone else has done this before and if so how they did it.   ;)

Thanks,

Terryd

Yea, I did it on mine.  I also added a switch to turn free play on and off.

I did that with mine as well. Just rigged up a spare leaf switch behind the reject button and wired it to the same terminal on the ipac that the coin switch is wired to. That way it will work if you press the button or it will work if you insert a token, either way.

Can you tell me if there is a difference between a standard cherry microswitch and the one listed in the pictures above?

its just a cherry switch with an actuator (arm). If you break off the ARM it would just be another switch that you already have for your buttons.
