Super disassembly problem
« on: September 02, 2004, 12:55:51 pm »
I just got some supers in a trade but they came assembeled. I was able to ge the clip off as well as the plastic thing on the shaft.  Now there is a metal round thing (for lack of better words) That I think is holding the shaft in. How do I get it out?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly as I haven't disassembled a Super, but this may help.

Get what out of what?

If you take off the clip, the handle pulls out of the square black part. There is an actuator and another black plastic part on the shaft, and a dust cover.

That's it. If you're trying to take the knob off the shaft, it doesn't.

You can view an exploded diagram on happcontrols.com

If the shaft won't just slide out the top, it could be rust to the washer inside... try tapping the bottom of the shaft with a hammer...

NO MORE!!

sounds like the shaft is rusted in place. Take the bottom base out so you have more access to holding in palce while twisting the shaft around to loosen it up.
