I have a Kiosk that I think would make a good low boy arcade cabinet with little effort.  There is no computer or monitor jus the cab.  Its free to the first person who shows up to claim it at my home in Allen,  TX.  Please get in touch with me if you want it.

If anything I will chalk it up to beginners luck - not because I'm new to arcade building, but because I'm new to Dallas... lived here for 4 days now! This is arcade heaven, I tell you...

Well I went down there to pick the thing up and it started raining on the way so now I have to go back this weekend!   I got to see the thing, though. If anybody finds another one of these things around, they'll make a perfect MP3 jukebox!

But Steve is a really nice guy with a really nice house and an awesome personal music studio.

Try "Fusion" spray paint. Bonds with plastic fairly well. Not perfect but better than the 99 cent stuff at Home Depot.

Your local home improvement store should have samples of a patio chair or flower pots painted with the stuff and a challenge to pick it off.

Stuff's expensive though.  Also sanding first will help adhesion.

He actually said he tried that and it still didn't work well. I'd be curious about my luck, though, if I cleaned the whole thing with alcohol first and maybe sanded the surface a bit.

However, despite its white color, it virtually scratchless. It's in really great condition so painting may be nice for changing the color, but certainly nothing needs to be covered up.

Fusion spray paint works real good on plastic. I had a old pc lying around that is now my daughters. Bought some purple and pink and it came out real nice. Everyone that comes over asks where they can buy one like that.

I say give it another try with the fusion, cost me 2.50 a can IIRC at Wal Mart (the only place in town that carries it)

Clean it with paint thinner just before you use the Fusion paint.  Will stick better that way.

Leave it white and just paste some vinyl art on it...that things hella cool...don't ruin it...just my opinion...

It's not actually white... it's that light beige color of older computers.

But it's a great case for a jukebox since it was made for a monitor and PC. It even has a built-in fan and vents. I'm going to have to squeeze speakers in there, though. That might be a challenge. I'll take pictures and post a write-up when I'm done, though. Wish me luck!

How about testing it (Fusion paint, cleaners, etc) on the backside of a panel?  Is a panel removable?  If so, I'd bet the backside is the same material as the front, so you'd be able to test it without ruining the outward appearance if it doesn't work out.  Good luck, good deal, too.  Path, you sound like a swell guy.

I did paint one of these with Fusion paint.  The paint didn't bond properly and easily scaped off.  I probably didn't prepare the surface properly.  I'd keep it off white and have a few decals made.  Its easier and sure to work.  Best of luck with this project and please post a few pics when you are finished.  I gave one of these away about 6 months ago to a another person on this board and haven't heard if they used it or not.  Best of luck on your project.

Where the heck are you coming up with these on such a regular basis?!  I'd like one, but I'm several states away, although I could round up a few buddies for a road trip....dunno if my wife would be there when I get back, though.  

Seriously, do you repair/replace these for a living or does someone call you for stuff like this....I'd REALLY like one for a juke!

The company that owned these kiosks went belly up.  These cabs were in doctor offices in north Texas.  I work for a company that provides lab services.  One of our employees who does pickups saw these being thrown out.  He knew I built arcade machines and asked if I wanted them.  I thought I should at least give it a try.  The other problem beside painting was monitor size.  The kiok can only fit a 17 inch monitor and I was hoping to put a 19 inch in there.  
To answer your question there are no made available to my knowledge.

Well I bought a can of Fusion last night, but freaky north TX weather has prevented me from starting. Steve (pathdoc2) knows exactly what I'm talking about! I'm going to pop off the top, turn it over, prep the heck out of it, and try painting the inside. If it turns out well, I may do the wehole thing. Wish me luck!

Don't worry, Steve. I won't push my luck with it. I don't want to ruin a perfectly good cabinet!
