Simple Solution REQUIRED. (dont wanna break nuffin) UPD 27th
« on: March 26, 2004, 07:04:36 am »
Hello All.
Im just about to get a 2player jamma based cabinet.
I want this to be a clean no soldering splicing modding of any kind job ( dont mind playing with software though)

What is the easiest way to connect this to a pc?
( I have been reading lots of posts and from my understanding a ArcadeVGA card and a J-Pac card should wrap it all up nicely? )

If i go that way i will be using the monitor horizontally, can i still play vertical games?
( im guessing they will look squashed a little but the correct ratios? )

That all being said can i use mamewah and the cmdline mame to get a front end and pretty it up?
( once again from what i have read it should be possible? )

Any help here is good help...  Thanks

You don't need an ArcadeVGA if you have a card that will output 15KHz.  Since you can pick a card like that up for just a couple bucks, it's not worth it IF you pair it with a J-PAC.

Without having the arcade cabinet. (its comming real soon)
Is there any way i can confirm that my video card can produce 15KHz?

The card is a Asus 3DP - V264GT/PRO i Think?
Windoes calls it a ATI Rage II + PCI (ati_m64)

Thanks

It should.  It's an ATI card.
