Dedicated 1 and 2 coin games?
« on: March 19, 2004, 08:11:54 pm »
Hi all,

I recently wired my coin door to coins 3 and 4 on my ipac.  I then changed the mame keys for coin 1 and 2 to also accept coin 3 and 4 (respectively).  This way, I can use either coins or button presses (which are wired to coin 1 and 2) to add credits.  I can then change those buttons at any time to something else so that only coins are accepted.  This would be a good way to give an "allowance" to kids so that they can only play for a certain number of tokens...

What I was thinking of doing was to change one of the mechs to token and leave the other as quarters.  Now, most games will take credits from either coin 1 or coin 2, but I think some don't.  Anyone know of those games?  It may be easier to just change it to only tokens, but it would be cool to accept both...

Thanks!

I am sure Gauntlet wants a specific coin per player.  Not sure of others.  The most likely ones are two-player simultaneous games where you could start in the middle of a game.  Examples to check would be Twin Cobra, C.A.B.A.L., Ikari (and sequels), Jackal (Top Gunner), and similar games.

yea Gauntlet is specific for each player and also the 3 player game Rampage/Rampage world tour. Some of the 4 player games, you can set it up only to be 2 players and they can select the character they wnat..ie The Simpsons, Teen age mutant ninja turtles, Captain america/avengers, spiderman etc...But the Gauntlet 4 players, you can't make it 2 players and select a character.
