Whatever planet it is, they must have two left arms there. Or, perhaps the constructor had an extra arm fitted to improve their ski boxing?

Looks like they just tried to jam too many button on a small panel. I think the way to play it is to cross your arms, use the stick with your right hand and the buttons with your left???

The buttons are arched so it's like they used one of the slagcoin templates but then inexplicably rotated it with the curve away from the player. Bizarre.

Best I can come up with is maybe it started as a 3 button layout (middle red/bottom two yellow, middle blue/bottom two green).

EDIT: Picture uploaded here for posterity

I wanna say the same thing. It kind of looks like they loaded the control panel in a vise backwards, drilled the pattern, then said "Screw it, I'm not making another." when they noticed the mistake.

Its simple.   The cab had a diamond shape button setup. Most likely a metal cp.
Rather than re-work it,  they just added 2 more buttons next to the grouping.
They might have placed the.higher up... but the start button was quite close.
Most likely a case of cheap cabinet flipping for a fast profit.

Each player stands 45 degrees to the right, thereby maximizing the area in front of the control panel.

Nah, you're all wrong! He made it for him and his older brother.  Usually player 2 is the younger brother, but since he built it he made himself player 1.  His brother had larger hands...

Its simple.   The cab had a diamond shape button setup. Most likely a metal cp.
Then explain the diamond being so crooked, not the same for each player, and angled?

I know you're basing your answer on the Dynamo "double diamond" control panel , but I don't think that's the case:

3rd panel being the best example( none of the 4th holes lined up with the pattern either)

I believe the guy got a Swiss cheese panel like I had with my old Dynamo:

And he just made the most of it.  3 year old tax sticker, and another one for 2016 about to expire, I think the game just isnt making any money on route anymore and he's getting rid of it.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

I think he accidentally mapped and drilled the pattern on the bottom side instead of the top, and decided to just keep it instead of re-drilling. If you flip the panel vertically put the buttons and joystick on the other side, then the pattern kind of looks looks correct.

If I were to try to explain this (and I'm about to  :lol) I would say that this was made with consoles in mind.

It makes sense if you view the bottom 4 buttons in a diamond shape (Like PS, XBOX, etc. controls) with the upper two buttons being the L/R shoulders.

Nutty from a standard arcade POV, but notsomuch for consoles.

In that regard the concept isn't as nutty but the actual act of playing console games on a standard arcade still is.

I think its played like some left handed players used to play in the arcade days. They would cross their forearms.  Joystick (typically mounted on the left side) played with right hand. buttons located on the right side are then played with left hand.

I know a couple of left handed players who play like this.

That's the only way this makes sense in my head. It still hurts to look at.

They used to use the term HD quite a lot back in the day, it only means high definition as people know.  It's only in recent years they have limited the term to just one specific resolution (1920 x 1080, or 1080p as it is known). That particular board i'm certain it has a vga connection and it only goes up to about 800x600.

I don't care what anyone says. Playing arcade-style console games on a little handheld d-pad controller could never hold a candle to playing those games with arcade controls. But this also comes from someone who has been building control panels to use with consoles since the late 70's, when it was virtually the only way to play the popular arcade titles at home.  So I'm probably just set in my ways  :lol

I can only assume (If there was any logic to that) The builder had the mind of building it to use as 3 rows of 2 as opposed to 2 rows of three.
If you think of it like that the config would work but for someone with relatively small hands like myself the reach over to the top set of 2 would prob be to much and I would be hitting the bottom ones with my palms I think!

Either way, Thats a horrible layout LOL
