What am I missing with wiring this minipac?
« on: April 29, 2016, 10:14:36 am »
So I'm following the instructions, daisy-chaining the ground wires, and then connecting the wires to the individual buttons. They're kind of a pain to get on sometimes, but I felt like everything was pretty secure. I fired it up and most buttons worked, but I was having issues with LEFT and the 6th button ("High Kick"  ;D) not working. Everything seemed to be connected, but I tried just forcing the wiring in a little more, wiggling around etc. Left came back on, but dropped out again, and came back on. Still nothing for the button, so I switched wires and got it working. Then the 2nd button stopped (though I'm not sure if I just never noticed it not being on at all). Kind of frustrating to wonder if down the line these things are gonna start randomly dropping out.

At this point I kind of want to disconnect everything not working and start again but some (ground wire on LEFT especially) are near impossible to get off.

Is there a trick to all this?

make sure that the wires are connected to "NO" on each of the Cherry switches.

Do you have a multi-meter to check the connections?

Check connections:
ipac to button connector.
ipac to microswitch tab

If it's ground wire, check the tabs from ipac and previous button.
