What arcade game do you really, really want on your driving cab, but can't have because it is not emulated or hacked to run on a PC?

The goal of this thread is to maintain a list of the games and the best current alternative to having the real arcade version.
The best alternative might be a PC release, console port, or emulated console port.

You do not need to know about any alternatives to post a wanted game.
The goal of this is to tap into the knowledge of everyone here to find the best alternative.
For some games, there will just be no options.

Inspiration: http://unmamed.mameworld.info/

I will keep this first post updated with the list and comments about the best port.
Emulating PS2 or Wii ports will take a very powerful PC.

Arctic Thunder - PS2 port.

CART Fury - PS2 port.

Chase HQ 2 -

Crazy Taxi: High Roller - PC version released as "Crazy Taxi 3". Doesn't work with all controllers/wheels.

Cruisin' Exotica - Nintendo 64 port

Fast and the Furious -Wii Version, no license, simply called "Cruis'n" but essentially the same game. Works well with a wheel in Dolphin emulator.

F-Zero AX - A versoin of AX is hidden in the Gamecube version (GX) and can be accessed with Action Replay codes.  Details throughout this thread for details: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133561.0.html

H2Overdrive -

King of Route 66 - PS2 Port

Offroad Thunder - Midway Arcade Treasures 3 for PS2 or Gamecube.  The PC version of MAT3 does not have analog control.

Outrun 2 - Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast with Howard's Outrun 2 FXT patch http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,147131.msg1531351.html#msg1531351

Hydro Thunder - standalone PC release (I will update this with more info when I get time), also the Dreamcast port is playable with a Dreamcast emulator

Initial D4/5/6/7 - Earlier games on NAOMI hardware are emulated on Demul, but require killer PC specs

San Francisco Rush: The Rock - Alcatraz Edition - Standalone PC version used with Glidewrapper, but you are required to press buttons after the race starts to activate wheel controls (read the instructions)  Midway Arcade Treasures 3 has analog control in Gamecube version, not in PC or PS2. These versions have different physics.

Sega Monaco GP - geecab's Sega Monaco GP remake http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,134445.0.html

SegaRaceTV -

example:

Offroad Thunder

in MAME, but nonworking and not expected to be emulated anytime soon.
Only PC port is on Midway Arcade Treasures 3, but the controls are not analog so they suck.

There is a dreamcast port, but IIRC when I tried to play it on NullDC there was a screeching sound the entire time.
I'm not 100% sure it was the same game.  I will check into it when I get a chance.

Lindbergh racers mainly for me:

none have been emulated so far

SegaRaceTV - nothing to my knowledge

Initial D4/5/6/7 - earlier initial d series games are emulated, but last time I tried them, they were a bit choppy

Outrun 2 SP SDX

Outrun 2 SP has a very good pc port which has been modified by Howard to a very high standard. The only thing missing for me on this is the lack of multiplayer gaming and getting the VR lights to work with my cab.

The PS2 version on Midway Arcade Treasures 3 plays great. Analog steering and no major graphic glitches. The Gamecube version is also very good though I get a slight graphical issue on some of the taillights on emulator.

I will add:
San Francisco Rush: The Rock - Alcatraz Edition
-Not quite playable in MAME. Midway Arcade Treasures 3 has analog control in Gamecube version, not in PC or PS2. These version have different physics. Standalone PC version with video card might be the closest to the original but I haven't tried it.

Arctic Thunder

Eighteen Wheeler
-Gamecube, maybe other ports

King of Route 66
-PS2 Port

Fast and the Furious

I will add these, but most people aren't going to have a PC powerful enough PC to emulate 3D PS2 games.
A fair number of people use PS2 compatible wheels though, so I guess there's the option of using the real hardware.

Route 66 kinda, sorta works in demul if I remember correctly.  It's a little on the slow side, but certainly faster than the ps2 version.

Oh kind of off topic, but to my amazement sfrush actually runs at a playable speed in mame on some of my slower computers!  I wasn't aware of that because during one of the in-game menus the framerate really drops so I never went beyond it.  So cool.

Most of the Naomi/Naomi 2 games. Initial D, etc don't support FFB from what I've heard. So that would be cool to have.

As mentioned in the other thread, PS3 racers via emulation, namely Ridge Racer 7 and the GT series.

Xbox racers via emulation like Rally Sport Challenge 2, PGR, etc.

Atari/Namco F-1 (1976)  :)  Not sure this will ever be emulated though. I've always thought, if some quality images of the rotating playfield/'spinning disc" (and other internal parts) existed on the web, then I'd quite fancy trying to make some sort of simulator for it :P

There's nothing to emulate... it's 90% E.M.  There are a few games like this I'd like to simulate, including 18 wheeler.  You just can't find info on the parts though.

This one would be particularly hard because the roadway was projected at an angle and tilted to create the illusion of depth and perspective.

Chase HQ 2, the Taito Type x2 arcade version from 2007 is top of my wish list. Considering all the other TTX and TTX2 games that have leaked onto the internet in the past couple of years I'm mega disappointed that this one still hasn't surfaced. I guess the closest equivalent game would be Ray Tracers on the PS1 (Somebody on another forum mentioned Need for Speed Hot Pursuit as an alternative to Chase HQ 2. No.)

H2Overdrive is my number two choice, the arcade spiritual successor to Hydro Thunder by Raw Thrills. My need to play this at home has been partially satiated by the excellent Hydro Thunder Hurricane on the Xbox 360, but H2Overdrive looks awesome enough for me to still want to play it at home too. I think some fans are trying to generate interest in a Kickstarter to try and fund a home port or something.

Outrun 2 SP has a very good pc port which has been modified by Howard to a very high standard. The only thing missing for me on this is the lack of multiplayer gaming and getting the VR lights to work with my cab.

You can do multiplayer on the PC version of Outrun 2006: C2C via LAN with multiple PCs.

The vr lights work as well.  You have to enable outputs in the cfg and use mamehooker with it.

Exactly what he said, oh and add Sega Race TV to that list too and you can spank my bum and call me a very happy boy :)

Chase HQ 2 is pretty high on my list as well.  I never found it in the arcades.

I'm wondering if it's a control issue......  most ttx games run just fine on a pc, you just can't get the inputs to work without hacking.  That *might* be something I can fix, so if you hear any news about it's status please let me know.

Yeah, likewise I've never actually played it, only ever seen videos on YouTube. The only time I've ever seen one in the wild was at a Chuck E. Cheese I was passing by in Brooklyn when I was visiting the US about two years ago. Unfortunately I didn't have time to have a go or really get a good up-close look as I was meeting up with a friend and I was already running late.

Not that I know anything about how the TTX cracks work, but I think, from what I understand, the problem with the Chase HQ 2 dump that is floating around on the interwebs is that it wasn't decrypted before being dumped, unlike your Battle Gears or Street Fighter IVs.

Sorry I should have checked this before I replied in PM.  Yeah that's a problem I can't fix unfortunately.  What we need is someone with a chase hq machine that is willing to decrypt the game and post the dump.

Do we know anyone that can do this because it might be worth it for a kickstarter or something.  As long as you don't buy the entire cabinet ttx stuff isn't terribly expensive is it?

Eighteen Wheeler
-Gamecube, maybe other ports

Works in Demul.
I remember playing it in Demul on my old cab, but it had some pretty bad graphics glitches.
Just checked and there are videos on youtube of it running on newer versions of Demul and it looks good.

I always thought that this was number 2
Or do we talking about this number 2

Both great games.
Strange that these days they don't make a remake of it.... :) Everything these days is a remake of a good classic game or movie

I don't want this to turn into a list of the latest games that haven't been emulated yet.
A newer game would have to have a massive following, like Wangan Maximum Tune.
Superbikes is maybe the worst motorcycle game I have ever played.

Last night my errands took me near 2 different movie theaters, so I swung by to see what games they had.
I was surprised that one still had the Hyper NeoGeo 64 game Xtreme Rally, which I noticed there a few years ago.
It isn't emulated.  With all the rabid NeoGeo fans, you'd think Hyper Neo64 would be emulated.
It's not.  Part of the reason is that all the games suck, including Xtreme Rally.
Hence despite being unemulated, it is not on the list.  ;D

I would add GTI Club 2/Corso Italiano/Driving Party

http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7659

It does load in MAME but isn't playable (last time I tried). Such a good game that I ended up buying the Konami Viper PCB and hacking a dreamcast steering wheel so I could play it!

For me it's all Model 3 drivers in link and Sega Rally 3. SR3 is available on PS3 as Sega Rally Online Arcade but it's only in 30fps.

But just how different is Sega Rally 3 to the 'home' version they called "SEGA Rally Revo" or just "SEGA Rally" in Europe?

I play the PC version of Sega Rally (2007) quite often as it's a really great racer on the PC :)

As both games were developed simultaneously by the same team of Developers (Sega Racing Studios) that were based close to where I live (Now Codemasters Racing who make the DiRT and GRID series of racing games) I always thought they were basically the same game, just one for the arcades and one for the home markets (PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 & PC)?

I only say as were talking about 'unemulated' racing games which tend to get played on the PC. If there's a specific PC version (and in this case it's a good one) it wouldn't make my list of 'Most Wanted' etc.

Just sayin' :)
