Source for HDMI/USB wall plate
« on: July 16, 2014, 04:56:10 pm »
Hey Folks, I'm looking for a Black wall plate to put on my MAME cabinet.  I was hoping for one that would give me 1xHDMI and 2x USB (and with USB the more the merrier, like 8 USB ports would be a win)

I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, maybe a $30 max, and its gotta be black.

If anyone has a good source for these I would greatly appreciate it.  I've looked for more than an hour and only seem to be finding white ones or stupid expensive ones ($100+ GET REAL!)

thanks

Search Amazon for "keystone plate black", "keystone USB black", and "keystone HDMI black".

I quick touch of vinyl dye will make any plate black.

Plug an old set of cables in before you paint so you don't get any down on the pins.

and the right answer is!

monoprice.com - 2x USB , 1x HDMI, 1x mini stereo, 4 hole keystone plate - $9.21 before shipping.  at that price I'll hit it with some black spray paint before I install it.

shipping estimate - $2.50 :)

Wall plates... one more reason to own a 3d printer! I saw some guy made an app that lets you configure wall plates for printing, and even sent him the specs for the panel mount jacks everyone uses for usb.

though I still don't own one... it's on the list!

That could be a really neat way to make an admin panel plate for a Grayhill 04a mini joystick mount like this one.
