Easter Weekend
« on: April 15, 2014, 10:11:21 am »
Who has cabinet building plans for the long Easter weekend in the UK (and the US for those who get the days off)? I hope I get SOMETHING done but I need the good weather as it will have to be done outside. It's 50/50 at the mo it seems...

I'm off Thursday and Friday.  My plan (weather permitting) is to finish my Tron Legacy control panel.

I'm excited to finally head outside and stain the panels of my cocktail build but then it snowed today.  :banghead: But it will be nice enough outside soon. Just finished my seasonal night job (deals with taxes in the US) so I am ready to get back to projects.
Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

I heard it is going to rain (again).  Hope you have a comfy workshop!

I have this weekend blocked off for meals of ham and bacon.  Hiding yellow eggs and doing a fertility dance.  Which is OK because its to cold to work outside if you ask me and it might rain anyway.  Although, I'm not in the UK.

There is a chance we might go to a fundraiser.  There is a chance to win a polaris ranger.  I figure the only way I'll get one of those is through a raffle.

"Do you have any plans Sunday?"

"Why?  What's Sunday?"

"It's Easter."

"It is?  What day is it today?"

"Tuesday."

"Oh."

The poser will be visiting family over the weekend and must do some cooking, but has plans to update some of the software in his mame cab.  Demul is not exiting properly thus causing mala to lose focus.
Never met a game I won't keep.

Well, it's either gonna be woodwork, painting, hardware setup, software setup or artwork design.  :dunno

So many things still to do...

Just received my t-molding and almost ready to paint the thing. But.. well, I'm a masonry contractor IRL and we have so much work ahead of us, i'm working right thru easter weekend. So much for cabinet building. I guess it's a good problem to have though so not complaining.

Leaving tomorrow to go pick up a 2 Slot MVS coming home dropping it off then headed to the San Antonio area to pick up my Ms. Pac-Man that I bought a couple months back. Other than that... no, no plans.

Working on a commission piece this month.  Waiting on paint to dry enough so I can tape it and put more paint on top of the other paint.  Then I'll drill holes in stuff.

Supposed to have been coaching my boys in baseball tonight but that was rained out.  Supposed to have taken our hearing dog to a GA kindgergarten classroom for a Q&A on aid animals but that was also rained out.  Supposed to hide eggs tomorrow but that looks like it too will be rained out.

Working Saturday.  Being an Atheist, I try to avoid as much Easter nonsense as possible.  It's quite possibly my LEAST favorite holiday.  Closest thing I do that could be considered "celebrating" Easter is hitting the day after sales on discounted candies for my kids.

Yeah I'm not in for it either. That doesn't mean I won't pass over offers for free dinners cooked by other people though. I got two planned, tonight and tomorrow night. Plus I'm working today and raking in the holiday cash. For some reason, Good Friday, Christmas Day, and Labour Day are considered "Super Stat holidays" where I work, and my pay is 2.5x regular.

I was able to get the major cuts done on my CP top but wasn't quite able to finish it.  Either way it felt great to be making sawdust again.

I raked the yard, set up the patio furniture and we grilled twice.  Grandma watched the kids, but there was no fertility dancing at my house.  Oddly enough there was no bacon until Monday.

I hear you - I did some, I didn't finish but what I did felt good.

(though I didn't have bacon either so not all good)

I worked all weekend, but it was good. I read like 400 pages of my novel because it was so slow. And both Monday and Friday were stat pay holidays, 2.5x Friday and 2x Monday. All that money is going to the new wndows and siding I just had installed.
