I am in the process of setting up as many MK games as possible on my cabinet for my boys to enjoy. I recently got MK komplete edition on steam and since it doesn't use the standard controls as the old ones (kicks on bottom instead of right), i've been thinking about how to map the controls. i've also setup a ps2 emulator for playing Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon.
i know that the original mk arcade games, the buttons were laid out in an unusual manner, which is difficult to replicate with standard arcade controls. I don't have any fond memories of playing it in the actual arcade, so the authenticity of the button layout doesn't matter to me that much. Having the block button in the middle seems a little weird, i was thinking about keeping the attack buttons on 1,2,4 and 5, and moving the block/run/other buttons to the right side...is this a bad idea? i can't imagine anyone is going to complain about it. i have a 7 button layout on my panel.
