Does the slot for the T-Molding have to go deeper than the barb on the T-Molding will go?
Looks like a slot cutter cuts deeper than the barb, but I may be wrong.
If it is deeper, is there any reason for this?

I know on the high end slot cutters you can adjust the depth of the slot by changing out bearing sizes.

It doesn't really need to be deeper then the barbs, but if you're lazy like me and don't clean out the slot before putting in the molding by having a deeper slot you have room for all the mfd fluff to get pushed in.
