Fighter Multicade Marquee for Critique

This is for a 2p cabinet, CRT screen, mostly for fighting games.  What do you think?

Vewlix-inspired background, characters found online, I certainly don't take credit for drawing them.

I think its cool.  The 3 rightmost logos get lost in the character.  Maybe namco could be a different color?

Looks fine. Not bad or anything. I dunno, I guess all fighters are starting to look the same to me.  :dunno

At least you used different characters. And I do like the red and the logos.

I think the title should stand out more (bigger, light edge to pop out) and as said the right logos blend in the characters. Maybe add a light edge around them.

Hey, I'm open to feedback. So far I like the characters and the red vewlix-like background, and I like the logos. Not sure about either the font or the wording of "Multicade" - seems so generic. However, I want this marquee to serve the purpose of being about all games rather than 1 game or type of game, so that was the best I could think of.

Hey, I'm open to feedback.

I know you are, and that's a good quality to possess.

So far I like the characters and the red vewlix-like background, and I like the logos.

Like I stated, I like the red and the logos, too.

Bug Malenko for some theme/name ideas. He comes up with great ones.

I like the general direction you've gone with this, but I would definitely avoid having logos running over the top of your characters... whether it's intended or not, it sends those characters into the background.  One way to make both the logos more clear and give an illusion of depth to the marquee would be to run a white band behind the characters that has the logos on it.  Also having the characters in front of the gray border along the top and bottom would make them pop a bit more as well (I just went crazy with the clone stamp to illustrate, but you could have all of them including Kirby just slightly breaching that border).  Here's a super sloppy idea as to what I'm talking about.

The only other thing that is slightly off for me is the font makes the name look like "Multkade" to me at a glance, but that might just be me.  Like I said though, I really like the direction you're going with this.

Thanks for the input. To be clear, the gray borders represent my marquee retainers... the printed image would just bleed into retainers.  I think I like the white line behind logos, also gets to the style of vewlix design which includes white with the red.

Well crap, I'll be honest, I never read the marquee before, but now that you mention it ... I see MUOKADE.

Haha yeah I can definitely see that too now that you've pointed it out.  I think besides just the difficulty in making out individual letters, that font may be just overkill in terms of lines?  Maybe stick with the stylized font idea but use one that is more legible and contrasts well with the solid lines throughout the design... perhaps something scribbley or painterly?

Made that super quick so it's not perfectly lined up or anything... mainly just threw it together to see what it would look like.

So once again, we find that evil of the past seeps into the present like salad dressing through cheap wax paper, mixing memory and desire.

This marquee looks fantastic! The Kirby hanging out in there is just the right kind of quirky.

I really like the red and grey background, it matches the color scheme I'm doing on my CP overlay. Any chance I could beg a copy of the background out if you? :P

I'd lose the title completely.  Not everything needs to be named.  It's pretty obvious what the heck it is.  Lose kirby or make kirby be fighting Chun li and lose Ken.  I like the logos as they are now.  Keep that.  Maybe put some random chinese characters up there.  Duck Soup Spleen!

Since I can't muster up the energy to make Dongle Dragon a reality, I firmly support the weirdness of Kirby on this marquee.  That makes the whole damn thing.

For the record, it's never too late.  You just print another one.  It's not that hard  ;)

Make kirby bigger and have him watching Chun Li and Ken going at it.
