Hung Donkey HD (ITS SAFE FOR WORK!)
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:33:25 pm »
My first commissioned work, well I did it at cost for my fiancee's friend and her husband. He came up with the name, art by Opt2not.

Started with a kit from Haruman, glued it together, paperweighted down by my trusty Dell CRT:

Assembled, made marquee rails out of aluminum A channel, painted a darker grey:

Test fitted the 20XX in 1 board:

Not quite as nice as MaLa or even Hyperspin, but the menu is functional:

Printed marquee installed:

Decided to break up all the black and put some vinyl on the sides. Thanks to Griff / Maximus for the hook up.

I think it turned out pretty well.

I never had a chance to make the bezel, so you can see behind the screen :/

TIGHT fit with everything inside:

Big thanks to Haruman for the kit, Opt2Not for the art, Maximus for the vinyl, and DiveMaster for the quick shipment of the front 3 buttons.

I got it from Maximus. The names funny, and an easy thing to change is he decides to. The front end is whatever comes with the board, I just enabled all games on it didnt bother getting into editing the front end because I didnt want to break anything.

What are you using for the marquee light?

It seems like its really focused in the middle or is that just the flash from the camera?

Standard under the shelf florescent fixture. Its the camera, well crummy iPhone 4s, that makes it look like that :/ I turned the flash off and the marquee looks more evenly lit, but that's all you could see in the picture. Jake is happy with it, so Im happy with it.

Lookin' good.

I was afraid to click on the thread for fear of another project with Konkey Dong artwork.

wasnt a fan of the black CP and Jake wanted the joystick bolts to show on top.  So I ordered a new CP panel from haruman with the joystick  base routed out and the bolt holes pre cut. Used some left over blue Vinyl to cover it, and reinstalled the same hardware.

Its held on with industrial velcro instead of screws like before, much cleaner look.
