Sandheaver is my sister.  She broke up with her husband, quit her job, was throwing major fits at any man around, including me, and apparently a lot of you.

We both like arcades but I never thought to actually talk about it with others, until she showed me this site.  I was happy just talking about this stuff with her, but she said a few things during the chaos that will take a while to forget, so here I am, hoping to engage in constructive conversation about the hobby.

I won't comment on her behavior, but I am glad to see that there's some recognition of blame that isn't her own.  She dislikes many of you, and won't ever return here (so she says) but I can tell you right now that a lot of that is her doing, as it always is.

Yes, she is troubled.  She owns/owned a lot of neat machines and she's only truly at peace when she can focus on them.  At all other times she is.. one must learn to share space with her.  She never posted here unless she was drunk, if that explains anything.  Hopefully I can be less trouble to you.  :)

I denied relation to her a few posts ago, wishing to remain unconnected to any of her karma or reputation.  But, she's my sister, and denying the truth is folly.  I take the good with the bad, and I know that her attitude is due to a very abusive childhood at the hands of one of our mom's boyfriends.  Clawing at other people over the Internet is not even close to a workable solution, though.  She knows that, is embarrassed by her behavior, but won't be coming back.

I do share her verbosity and propensity for wild ideas, but I won't react like she did if you tell me I'm being stupid.

Cheers.

@Rigby
Sorry to hear about your sister. Stress sucks, abuse sucks more, and dealing with it through alcohol just makes it all that much worse.

Here's hoping she can slay her demons and get a chance to enjoy her hobby and her life.

:stupid drventure is right, that stuff is bad news, and can be hard for anyone to deal with. I hope your sister can move on from her troubles at some point soon. It sounds like it has been difficult for you as well, but at the same time it sounds like you are there for her as family. :applaud:

I have a feeling she particularly disliked me, so I don't know if my words would ever hold bearing to her, but I say that she should totally come back if she ever feels ready to engage on a more stable level, attitude wise. Its a fun hobby, and I hate to feel like I was less than welcoming to a new member here, whether she had personal issues to deal with or not.

Yeah.  She manufactures reasons when none are at hand.  We're all used to it and she never means any of it truly, but she was not in control of her own life or body for so many years during her childhood that she demands control, now.  I can't say that I'd be any different.

Sandheaver is my sister.

Been thinking about that as a possibility, but didn't want to be the one to say it. I'm trying to play nice and always give benefits of the doubt.

My big tip off?

It's actually pretty quiet in there :(  there's no jukebox (as of my last visit) and most games don't make noises in attract mode.  But, yeah I'll try to get a video.  My husband is always wanting me to play games with him when sometimes I just want to stand there and breathe in the atmosphere for a bit.

Sandheaver is my sister.  She broke up with her husband, quit her job, was throwing major fits at any man around, including me, and apparently a lot of you.

Very interesting!
I doubted the whole sister thing from the get go.
Maybe I'm a jerk but I chuckled as I read about the boyfriend. Only because it was just too much info. It read like a soap opera.
I was waiting for story about the jilted ex-lover who left her standing at the chapel, pregnant, with bad credit.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that she was talking about being at an arcade and her husband was holding the camera or something. It's when I realized she was a chick.

I was surprised so many were buying it.

Of course if it is all true, then sorry and I hope she finds her peace.

Whether you are her brother or alternate identity, I hope you at least have a sense of humor. I got some great stories about running on gravel that Sandheaver never quite appreciated.  ;D

Hah! Well, there's a lot she doesn't appreciate.  I'm most definitely male, and she is most definitely not.  I'm not sure how I can prove anything without pictures, and even if I did that you'd come up with a conspiracy theory.  So, I'll just remain here, ignore the japes, and eventually you'll forget, I'll blend in, just like my martian landlord and the sasquatch school bus driver.  Everyone ignores them, too.  :)

The biggest thing that leads to my disbelief, was when Sandy (probably most definitely Rigby as well) said that she would delete her account and create a new acting like a male, and nobody would ever know...

Don't tell people what you plan to do, if you don't want them to find out later.

By the way, whenever I heard "sandheaver" I always thought of a beach bully, kicking sand.

Turns out it's a family surname in Lord of the Rings.

She did, but that's not this account.  And, like I said, she's done with you guys, and she's never said she was done then reversed herself, ever.

Hey Rigby,
I would like your advice on something though.
I'm working on a new project and I'm planning my front end.
I'm thinking the whole shabang, Hyperspin with full color game lists, video game sounds and all.
How does that sound to you. :)

Oh your good

If you want to believe we're the same person, then, by all means, believe that.  If you want to believe that I am another person, then believe that.  It's really none of my business what you believe, and it doesn't matter to me either way.  Trying to convince anyone of anything over the Internet is pointless; anyone can fabricate just about anything, and the documents & pictures that would provide proof aren't worth showing just to settle an Internet argument.
