Looks like ol' Sandheaver took her proverbial ball and went home.  Should we have a service or moment of silence or something?

At times like this I think the right thing to do is stay positive and remember the good times we had together.

Couple hundy posts. Wanted the "no front end" front end.  Chip on shoulder, at least initially.

I think I'm to blame actually, though I might be giving myself too much credit.

still cant understand why the delete account and posts option is enabled on this forum. It's a nightmare not only for valuable information that could be gone forever, it's also terrible from an SEO perspective. Figured this would have still been fresh in people's minds from the PBJ incident.

Lately she started pissing on a couple of people's ideas because they were not the norm. Very ironic if you asked me.

Hrm...That spat on the "no front end" picked up on the 15th of the month of March. What time of the month is it right now?

Well at least with PBJ there was none of this threatening to go bs, he just up and disappeared.  I'm not very impressed when somebody announces that they are going to get off the forums if [fill in the blank] doesn't change.  Still, she only threatened to delete her account for two months before finally getting around to it, others have carried on much longer.

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,132294.0.html - Saint went through and snipped out the bits that were not constructive but basically what had happened was I made a stupid joke, Sandheaver (who had me on ignore) announces that without reading my post she knows it's dumb, everyone questions why she was doing that, she calls me a sexist name caller, and then, and then, and then.... yadda yadda snipped.

I think I may be part to blame as well. She posted a bit of self-deprecating nonsense and a bit of bashing to suggestions made by others in yotsuya's project-naming post, then Le Chuck posted something in Le Chuck fashion, not realizing it was a reply to her.  Then I called her out for the disrespect to the suggestions, which somehow she took it as sexiest remark... even though I didn't know who this person was, let alone her gender...

She then wrote a big post on how much strife her life has, and how she doesn't care about what we all think.

Then Saint stepped in with a mop and cleaned up the thread...then she bailed.

Honestly before that thread I never heard of her, but by reading some of her posts, especially her thread reactions about the non-Front-end-Front-end, it's probably for the best. She seemed extremely unstable, and probably on some kind of professional help and medication.  I felt pity for her though, 'cause it seemed that she was using this forum as a sort of therapy, an outlet.  Boy, did she out-let.  I just hope she works out whatever is haunting her.

Meh, I still stand by what I said in 109.  Yours was a bit more direct tho.  Incidentally it looks like saint has gone through and edited my posts to remove both traces of the wretched name calling.  Your use of ---Bad words, bad words, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when saint censors you?---, tho auto edited, still stands proud.

then Le Chuck posted something in Le Chuck fashion

A truer statement has rarely been made.

Nope, don't understand that.  Why make such a spectacle before doing it?  It's all about ego and the "look at me" factor.  I wonder how people like that are in real life and what kind of example they are setting for their kids.  Yep, I went there.  At least Ahigh and PBJ just left without the drama.

Thanks for the link to the thread.  I saw that when yotsuya first posted and wanted to suggest "My parents don't love me since they bought me Atari instead of Intellivision" but I decided to have a mature moment and not thread crap.  Turns out I missed all the fun.

And what happend with CheffoJeffo and/or HaRuMaN not having a screenshot of the thread like they would years ago?   :banghead:

Oh, and once I found out she was a woman, I always regretted making post #32 in her no-FE thread.

:lol  You are the only person she sorta forgave. I think she hated me quite a bit more simply because my comments were simply off the wall stupid. I was honestly trying to divert her anger and lighten the mood, but I wasn't expecting her to be completely devoid of a sense of humor. Hrm...I wonder if she is related to Darren?

Besides, it really shouldn't be a big deal. A woman should know that when she shows up to the boys' card game that there will be a bit of name slinging going around. I guess not many women can be perfect like Jennifer.  ;)

Funny enough, I always assumed there were a number of women around here and thought nothing of it. Its not until these topics go up that I realize how few ladies are around here. Last non-veteran lady I remember around here must have been at least a year or two ago, and Nobody made a peep about her being a woman when she said so. I remember she welded and did electronics and all sorts of good stuff. Can't remember much else other than she found an empty unfinished cab. I'm totally digressing, but my point is that I don't think anybody here really cares about gender. At least unless they want to post pics of themselves in the bathroom mirror.  >:D

Point of clarification - not a boys' card game, this is a St.Clair invitational with all genders, gender preferences, races, and political bents welcomed. No sexism please - if in doubt I'd prefer folks err on the side of caution. :)

 Right on, as it should be.

I'll clarify my point as well. In the real world, I work in an office where the department I work in is about 30 women and I am the only man. It has been that way for years. Well, they often forget there is a man present and will talk about things like lady cramping, how evil men are, the obscene parts of romance novels, etc. Some days in my life it is like someone turned on "the view" then tossed the remote under a streamroller. My point is that I know the demographic I am generally surrounded in and am very understanding around unfiltered women-speak on a daily basis. My hope is that anyone who joining us that is outside of the common demographic will be a bit more forgiving of us when we fail at being on our absolute bestest behavior.   ;)

I can.  I just did to make sure, my "sweet post the code" post is gone.  What theme are you using.  Back in Black (or whatever it's called) has a little "remove" icon in the top right corner of my posts.  I can't delete entire threads but I can clean up a post licketysplit.

Oh great guys, you made her leave.

I was really hoping to get that no front end, front end in its final finished form.

See I got this great build I'm working on.
It's a no arcade, arcade machine.

I call up the list of games on my phone and after selecting the game, I play it on my phone.

I really hate to look at all those tacky games on my arcades monitor

When I go, all I'll be able to do is modify my posts to: "."

Sandheaver would still read that as a "period joke".
:lol

Oh great guys, you made her leave.

I was really hoping to get that no front end, front end in its final finished form.

See I got this great build I'm working on.
It's a no arcade, arcade machine.

I call up the list of games on my phone and after selecting the game, I play it on my phone.

I really hate to look at all those tacky games on my arcades monitor

 :laugh2:

Entertaining group this is. :D

Agreed, so that's why you should also build an arcade like cradle for your phone with real arcade controls ... oh wait I just described an iCade.

:lol Yes, but those pesky arcade controls just going to get in the way. You will need an app to call up a virtual joystick on a second phone to play your game on a third phone. Maybe add a 4th phone for a marquee.

No, that's what a Windows table is for.

I think allowing someone to wipe their existence is a good thing. Should be retroactive for all who've been banned. Just wipe all their stuff out with 'em. It's not like noobs find their stuff very often anyways.....

Sandheaver is my sister.  She broke up with her husband, quit her job, was throwing major fits at any man around, including me, and apparently a lot of you.

We both like arcades but I never thought to actually talk about it with others, until she showed me this site.  I was happy just talking about this stuff with her, but she said a few things during the chaos that will take a while to forget, so here I am, hoping to engage in constructive conversation about the hobby.

I won't comment on her behavior, but I am glad to see that there's some recognition of blame that isn't her own.  She dislikes many of you, and won't ever return here (so she says) but I can tell you right now that a lot of that is her doing, as it always is.

Yes, she is troubled.  She owns/owned a lot of neat machines and she's only truly at peace when she can focus on them.  At all other times she is.. one must learn to share space with her.  She never posted here unless she was drunk, if that explains anything.  Hopefully I can be less trouble to you.  :)

I denied relation to her a few posts ago, wishing to remain unconnected to any of her karma or reputation.  But, she's my sister, and denying the truth is folly.  I take the good with the bad, and I know that her attitude is due to a very abusive childhood at the hands of one of our mom's boyfriends.  Clawing at other people over the Internet is not even close to a workable solution, though.  She knows that, is embarrassed by her behavior, but won't be coming back.

I do share her verbosity and propensity for wild ideas, but I won't react like she did if you tell me I'm being stupid.

Cheers.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Stress sucks, abuse sucks more, and dealing with it through alcohol just makes it all that much worse.

Here's hoping she can slay her demons and get a chance to enjoy her hobby and her life.

:stupid drventure is right, that stuff is bad news, and can be hard for anyone to deal with. I hope your sister can move on from her troubles at some point soon. It sounds like it has been difficult for you as well, but at the same time it sounds like you are there for her as family. :applaud:

I have a feeling she particularly disliked me, so I don't know if my words would ever hold bearing to her, but I say that she should totally come back if she ever feels ready to engage on a more stable level, attitude wise. Its a fun hobby, and I hate to feel like I was less than welcoming to a new member here, whether she had personal issues to deal with or not.

Yeah.  She manufactures reasons when none are at hand.  We're all used to it and she never means any of it truly, but she was not in control of her own life or body for so many years during her childhood that she demands control, now.  I can't say that I'd be any different.

Sandheaver is my sister.

Been thinking about that as a possibility, but didn't want to be the one to say it. I'm trying to play nice and always give benefits of the doubt.

My big tip off?

It's actually pretty quiet in there :(  there's no jukebox (as of my last visit) and most games don't make noises in attract mode.  But, yeah I'll try to get a video.  My husband is always wanting me to play games with him when sometimes I just want to stand there and breathe in the atmosphere for a bit.

Very interesting!
I doubted the whole sister thing from the get go.
Maybe I'm a jerk but I chuckled as I read about the boyfriend. Only because it was just too much info. It read like a soap opera.
I was waiting for story about the jilted ex-lover who left her standing at the chapel, pregnant, with bad credit.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that she was talking about being at an arcade and her husband was holding the camera or something. It's when I realized she was a chick.

I was surprised so many were buying it.

Of course if it is all true, then sorry and I hope she finds her peace.

Hah! Well, there's a lot she doesn't appreciate.  I'm most definitely male, and she is most definitely not.  I'm not sure how I can prove anything without pictures, and even if I did that you'd come up with a conspiracy theory.  So, I'll just remain here, ignore the japes, and eventually you'll forget, I'll blend in, just like my martian landlord and the sasquatch school bus driver.  Everyone ignores them, too.  :)

Hey Rigby,

I'm working on a new project and I'm planning my front end.
I'm thinking the whole shabang, Hyperspin with full color game lists, video game sounds and all.
How does that sound to you. :)

Oh your good

If you want to believe we're the same person, then, by all means, believe that.  If you want to believe that I am another person, then believe that.  It's really none of my business what you believe, and it doesn't matter to me either way.  Trying to convince anyone of anything over the Internet is pointless; anyone can fabricate just about anything, and the documents & pictures that would provide proof aren't worth showing just to settle an Internet argument.

I posted it knowing it would be edited. I would like to clarify though, I wasnt implying Rigby had sand in his girl parts, I was just alluding to he and Sandy being the same person, but even if it is the same person I don't care. I will know its her if he starts bragging about posting to the forum using his phone to control his PC.

Atari Rigby might be passing "the Test". wink wink. Probably B-. I only have a few decisive questions left:

1) Favorite Ghostbusters character, name it.

2) Solder or Quick Disconnect microswitches?

3) Age bracket:
A) Diaper Baby
F) Peter Puberty
C) Rollerblades
C) Millenium Falcon
C) Bruce Lee vs Kareem Abdul Jabbar
B) Original Super Bowl
A) Dusty Biscuits of Lawrence Welk

4) Rambo eating a fruit Salad or Pat Sajak riding a gazelle?

5) Name an Urkel invention.

Sajak riding a gazelle at full sprint would be funnier, especially if he were holding a spear and screaming, and it was clearly Pat Sajak.

Rambo eating a salad would be a more off the wall, WTF style painting, so long as he doesn't look happy while he's eating.  Those stock photos of people eating salad and laughing are weird, but Rambo eating a salad laughing would be too much.  "Salad, you're hilarious!"

Vigo Carpathian was a pretty evil character and awesome indeed, but that whole mood slime plot was pretty weak.  "Let's make NY a better city."  Pfft, it's fine how it is.

By the way, art costs whatever the artist charges, unless there is an agreement otherwise.  That said, artists won't be doing a lot of business if they're stupid with their pricing.

I didn't post it there because I'm not an artist, and I'm pretty sure I've never purchased any art that wasn't mass produced, so my opinion counts for little, and doesn't belong in that thread.

Totally agree about Rambo needing to be serious. He would almost need to be eating a fruit salad with a snarl, like that fruit salad is giving him war flashbacks. Maybe he could be eating it with his signature combat knife. STAB! That muskmelon never even saw it coming.

If Pat Sajak is gonna have a spear, then he ought to be hunting something. Wild vowels maybe? Would easily explain why they cost $250 to buy. Consonants are clearly domesticated and the show picks up the cost.

I thought about writing a caption, comic book style, floating over his head, but it seemed out of place for a painting.  Just now, I remembered that I've seen little plaques on frames of paintings with a title and/or caption.  I agree it should be captioned, if it isn't clear what he's hunting, but what should it say?  I can't decide between a punchline that's clearly a joke or something serious.

If he was holding a Genesis we could talk, but patrons carrying a Master System can find the exit.

You are now the first person i've ever heard of actually owning a Master System at any time in their lives.  I was not aware that any sizeable game library was even released for that console.  Shows what I know.

I'd still prefer a Genesis, though.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww................ why you gotta dis the SMS? I spent many an hour playing Phantasy Star on that thing!

You are now the first person i've ever heard of actually owning a Master System at any time in their lives.  I was not aware that any sizeable game library was even released for that console.  Shows what I know.

I'd still prefer a Genesis, though.

It was actually my sister's boyfriend's machine. When they broke up, I kept it. I ended up trading it for a Super Nintendo!!!

Just now, I remembered that I've seen little plaques on frames of paintings with a title and/or caption.  I agree it should be captioned, if it isn't clear what he's hunting, but what should it say?  I can't decide between a punchline that's clearly a joke or something serious.

I would call it "The Most Dangerous Gameshow" (A reference the the book "The Most Dangerous Game")

@yotsuya: I especially love the Harrison Ford one.  :lol Way to snag a free system from your sisters ex, and trade up on it as well. Though i'm sure a SMS is more valuable today.

Yeah, the SMS controllers were falling apart. Karma got me later, though. My ex-gf bought me a Genesis for X-mas, then ended up keeping it when we broke up.

Haven't done anything but greedily horde all my video game stuff ever since my n64 controller got tainted. I've mentioned that episode before though.

Rigby!  Rigby!  Rigby! Rigby!

Sorry Rigby I just felt like chanting Rigby!

I think a few folks have mixed feelings about Sandheaver's departure.  I think its just kinda sad she went off in anger, though she did invite the trouble a bit.

Too bad she kicked over all the gnomes and stormed off.  Theres very few women (that I know of) in the hobby, there should be more.

The Wayback Machine doesn't catch everything, but you can put in the URL for the forum and move the slider at the top to a date after the post and before it was deleted to get what they did capture.

Reply #41 (second one down  here) shows John (darkkniyt)'s original post.

Everyone,

I have finally made it back.
I wish to express my sincere thanks to everyone for the well wishes and patience.
I am catching up on orders now (few more to go).
All outstanding orders will be in the mail before the end of the week.

I still have quite a few emails to respond to, so if you have not received a response yet you will shortly.

Again, thank you to everyone!
John

Same post here after PBJ called him out and John "went PBJ" before PBJ "went PBJ".   :laugh2:

WTF?  Is this like a Mamey but for trolling?   Oh, I admit that I was being an ass. But is this the thread where I called her a ---smurfy--- parent?  Too many threads about this to keep track of.

And am I being graded on all my posts?  I directed a lot of angst at Genesim.  Saint even created Rule 11 because of what I did to him.  That was probably worth more than a gold trophy.  Pay up bitches!

He ended up being a deadbeat. I had to hassle him for a refund on art that never came... He still owes some folks. If nothing else PBJ had an accurate and functioning BS detector.
