Tron legacy

Hey,
Thought id post the first machine to be finished in a separate thread,

Let me thank the folks of the hyperspin forums for all the help and feed back whilst building and a huge thanks to Mike for the great artwork.

This is the Tron legacy machine.
It runs all the of Mame games ,Sega master system,Sega mega drive,Nes,Super Nes,Game boy advance,Game Gear

The specs
P4 with 4gigs of ram
Nvidia Geforce 210
17 inch lcd NEC monitor
500 whatt power supply
160 Gig hard drive
Led strip light for marquee
Logic pro ipod speaker modded to fit

Windows 64 bit ultimate installed
Completely shelled with custom start up logo, welcome screen changed and windows branding removed, removed the blue spinning circle and used transparent cursor.

Start up

Custom Tron style Hyperspin intro movie

So just to recap
This machine is made from one sheet of 18mm MDF cut into pieces at my local hardware store.it 48' tall and 21' wide

The non artwork faces are fitted with matt vinyl

The edges are fitted with chrome T-molding

The pc was bought from gum tree

And i left it in its case

The controls and ipac are from ebay

Fitted

The artwork is from my local printing company here is me fitting them

And here is the finished machine (with out final glass fitted)

And at home for final testing

And the final thing i fitted was the lock that i got from ultracabs and Jack helped me fit it ( his only 9 months)

I fitted the lock because you don't want little fingers getting into the machine whilst its running

After these pics i fitted the final plexi glass and tidied the wiring and loaded it on my van ready to  be taken to its new home.........

Very nice,  The intro video won't play though as it says it is a private video.

Wowser! Gotta love it :) The whole cab is just outstanding and then with this vid... Well, it just ties the whole cab together! ... Mind if I poach? Wouldn't mind this as an option for my cab down the line... Just getting to grips with hyperspin at the moment :) ... Still using a mix of MameUI / Mala whilst I figure everything out to my liking :)

Thanks muchly! Vid has been poached, of course if anyone asks; you will get full credit :)

As for the cab, credit where credit is due; you've done some outstanding work there, and I love your side art! Hopefully mine should be here this time next week, so I can unveil it, but amongst other things, there is a partial tron aspect to it, so keep your eyes open for the arrival ;) Not sure if it'll be liked by others or not, but I *love* the work I've had done, so can but hope when it gets unveiled :)

I may well have to check back with you regards Hyperspin; out of interest; how did you build your games list? I've tried ROM Lister, but the output XML files don't seem to be readable with Hyperspin no matter what I do, and I definitely have the latest version; my test rig (not my actual box) is on a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit edition, have a few test versions of mame as well as the latest (my actual build uses a really old version, as it has all the ROMs I want on it, but I'll update those with clr mame, or download the newer versions when I get all sorted).

Anyway; I'm hijacking here... so I'll shush!! Still love you build; One of my faves for artwork at the moment as well :)

anyway, I shall say: <end of line.> and finish the post ;) Have fun with your build :D Must admit; I've started playing on mine in between bits arriving, as I can't do work when I don't have stuff!!

There are browse plugin's that will allow you to download from YouTube directly ;) Though; caution is advisable with those; as you never know which are full of adware... On the OS X & linux side of life; I use DownloadHelper, but it's useless for Windows boxes, though there are plenty of alternatives available :)

+1

Great stuff monkey, it's an excellent theme for the cab and although I'm not a fan of the chrome T molding usually, it looks great on this.

I have already been wowed by your quality of this cab with the pictures you sent me a couple of weeks back.
The complete package now looks even better.

Personally, I like chrome t molding and my original plans were to use it on my cab. I had used it a few years ago on another cab. My only beef with chrome is that it mars kinda easily.
I needed a slightly larger size t molding for my cab so chrome was no longer an option. I ended up going with white ( on a black cabinet) and I love the way it looks.
