Finished Arcade sound issue
« on: March 11, 2013, 10:19:25 am »
I finished my arcade machine, it has this amp

http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PCA1-30-Watt-Stereo-Amplifier/dp/B0012KZNP4/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1362959541&sr=1-6&keywords=pyle+amp

from there if I plug it in a female to female RCA adapter and my ps3 on the other end I get stereo sound from the speakers.

I have a stereo Y cable, RCA Red/White to 1/8th inch Headphone jack. If I plug the power amp into this adapter and into my computer only one speaker plays. I also hooked it into my Ipad and only one speaker played.

I used to have my computer hooked up to a stereo receiver with no issues so what could be the issue here?

Sounds like your Y cable is busted. Try swapping the red and white to see if the sound switches sides.

It seems the RED is not outputting anything off the power amp. only the left speaker works when using the Y cable. I have 2 cables so Its not going to be the cable itself.

Does a pair of headphones work properly, and also did you try swapping round the red/white and did the sound change from right/left and or vice-versa.
