  • Almost done ...
The gray is a lot better than the white. Not sure about the marqee - it is a little too cartoonish but it's important to go with what you like. Wish I could offer some better suggestions .....

If you want to go a little Star Trek, perhaps a warning that if the magnetic containment field strength goes below 15%, the field will collapse, destroying the cab.

Your Lowboy is amazing...The style is pure the cuts are agressives and the cp is crazy...

You want to paint your cab...That idea is really good. what about a pencil in a banksy style? this draw is a bit antimatter   :dunno

why dont you put the logo at the top of the cab and smaller not in central stage.

And a astronom like this should be easy to paint..Some ideas for the marquee too..

Ilove the antimatter is written on the draw with the 2 guys with glasses on the side

Hope it helps..good luck

I really like the design of your lowboy.

You could get a better fit with the bezel if you decase the monitor though.

Looks great.   :applaud:

The only thing you might want to consider is black carriage bolts to go with the black dust washers, black Atari button cones, and black button bodies.

You can buy black powder coated aluminum similar to this for the kick plate.

Should be pretty durable.

Dad blammit Louis, yet another idea I will have to steal from you for a future build! (Great work on the leds, and I like the way you use common material for your ideas.)

And dont kick me, cause I aint the one who thought of it, but I still think the coin buttons in the dual switch plate was a good idea. Just need to figure out a way to hide the switch holes and paint it black of course.

One of my current builds uses a variation of this.

Use a stainless steel cover plate like this.

Once the center hole(s) are drilled/nibbled/filed to the right size, use a metal cutoff wheel on a table saw to trim the outer curved portions leaving the flat center portion with countersunk screw holes.

Fodors fun fact: The linked version (F-type/TV cable plate) only needs to be rounded out to perfectly fit the bat-handle Grayhill 04 mini-joystick -- will be posting more on that soon.

Like the build, what you really need is some texure on that side though to make it look more industrial, http://www.filterforge.com/filters/4497.html I know it looks a bit green, but this is the same type of texuring they use on CGI starship models for the Feds...

Sweet!!

Those coin buttons are bright arent they?
I plan to dim mine a bit with the led wiz (Its going to be interesting working with that led wiz, I can already see some problems with emuls besides mame, definitely need to study up on it more. Having to put off finishing A Little Rage may have turned out to be a blessing.)
Anyway, maybe its the camera making them look so bright, but I have noticed mine being pretty bright at 5 Volts.

Anyway, this is a great build.
Got to try Kinkos for my marquee, (Tired of splicing two or three images together). Can they print on the transparent copy paper?

That's pretty awesome looking texture. That would definitely make the cabinet look 10x better. If I could actually paint worth a damn, I'd do it.

Welllll..... That's a texture for a CGI model... you would need something that actually created a difference in the surface height to make it more realistic, say about the thickness of paper or cardboard from a cereal box, and build up some serious greebling around the antimatter sigil, plus using the right paints can help, http://www.humbrol.com/paints/paints-by-finish/metalcote-colours/ac5025-27003-polished-steel-14ml-metalcote-enamel-tinlet/ this paint polishes to give a metal finish, I know it looks good on a smal model, how it will look on a larger area IDK...

Now that, if done correctly, would be top shelf badass.

Yep, I'd look around some 3D model sites for ideas for your greebles, and maybe talk to a few model makers, I have an idea of how I would do it, if you want?
