2 player and 4 player, not 2-way and 4-way joysticks...   ;)

  • Awesome face!
Post a picture of your machine so I can get a good idea as to if I should be leaning more towards 2 player titles or 4 player ones.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

HA !   Great answers !!!   See... thats why I asked.. I never thought of half of those...

I'll def post pics soon.  I'm not entirely finished... should be done this weekend.  I took a Golden Tee 04 and cut about 15 inches off the back and modified it.  Lookin pretty good so far.   : )

Is the crowd going to consist of real gamers or will it be mostly Angry Birders and Wii-tards?  This matters.

There have been some great fighters, sports games, and beat-em-ups already mentioned--but I think most of them are probably better suited to guys who actually have a history of playing and enjoying fast, hectic, skill-based arcade games.  In that category, we'd be remiss if we didn't throw in some top-notch shoot-em-ups--DoDonPachi, Strikers 1945, and Cybattler come to mind instantly for me.  For an over-the-top beat-em-up that uses mech robots with interchangeable arms, try Armored Warriors.

If you're looking for some non-gamer-friendly titles, here you go:

If you have a trackball: http://cynicaster.blogspot.ca/2012/06/five-mame-titles-even-your-buddys.html
If you don't: http://cynicaster.blogspot.ca/2012/09/five-more-mame-titles-that-even-your.html

If they're adults, stay away from Simpsons or TMNT.  Single button side scrollers with no end are boring after awhile.

Definately classix such as Donkey Kong, PacMan (we prefer Ms. Pacman in our house), 1941, Galaga, etc.

For 2player, Killer Instinct or Killer Instinct 2, any of the Double Dragons, etc.  As brought up before, definitely Track 'N Field...if your CP is stout.  It takes a lot of beating during this one.

For 2 player coop, definitely Bubble Bobble.
