Games that send blinking light signal to Player buttons?
« on: April 13, 2012, 09:00:48 pm »
I've Googled around for this, so I apologize if it's obvious somewhere and I missed it, but I was wondering if anyone had a list of which games send a blinking light signal to the Player 1 and Player 2 buttons when a credit is added?

I've installed the lights already and want to be able to show them off. I know Asteroids, Centipede, and Pac-Man do, but that's just trial and error.

Thanks!

I don't have an answer to help you out any but I wish more games had this feature.  It's one I enjoy seeing.

Just tried a few games to verify... Galaxian, Galaga, and Gaplus all support this feature. Galaga '88 does not...

I have cone buttons on one of my games. How does this work exactly? How are you controlling the lights? Is there a LEDWiz involved or something?

I used to do it through MAME using ledutil and the keyboard button harness on my I-PAC2, but since I added an LED-WIZ, it doesn't seem to work anymore.

An LED controller (such as an LED-Wiz, PACLED64, or even a PAC-DRIVE) coupled with LEDBlinky.

Spy hunter I think - I don't have any fancy lights but don't your power up buttons come on in that one?

Worked well for me.  Did you tell the utility you're using the start button and corresponding lights?

On topic: I'm almost tired of my LEDs ("almost") but I still love to see the start buttons light up.  If I don't do lighted buttons for the next cab, I'll still throw lights into the starts just for those few games.

Yeah, LED Blinky might be cockblocking ledutil. I'll have to check it out.

If you're using LEDBlinky, you should not need ledutil.
Robots will kill you.
