Game on grafix
« on: December 03, 2011, 10:18:46 am »
Hey guys,

I botched an order and was after some info so I sent a couple of emails to them back on Monday and got a response later that day that they'd cancel my order. However the order is still there.
I've sent some more emails but I've not had any more responses.
I'm actually not too bothered about having to wait for responses. I'm fully aware that people run these sites as second businesses etc. I'm just a little worried that they might accidentally still print my order etc.

Has anyone got more experience of using them that can put my mind at ease or some advice on ensuring they're made aware that the order is still open (other than more emails :))?

Cheers for any info

Paul

I have used them numerous times, I'm very happy with the results. When I did have a problem with a slight crease in my control panel art, he quickly sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Yeah. I've heard nothing but great stories from people who've used them. Just want to make sure they don't waste a print etc :)

Before someone like OAI walks in, I just wanted to say that I thought that this was a thoughtful and well-presented question to address a problem that does occur in this hobby.

Dont stress, if Scott said he would cancel it then he will, I have dealt with him a couple of times now and he has always been a great help and does quality work.

I was thinking I might be able to help things along (and it'd mean less work for scott) if I could make the alterations I require to the control panel overlay I'm after and then send it to him, rather than ask him to follow all my instructions and the need to want to preview and review any issues etc.  It's the sf2ww CPO.
The question I have is that the only place I know that has it for download is joymonkeys site. Since I'm not a member I was wondering if anyone here can comment on the quality of the artwork there? I notice he offers the art in jpeg form and I think GOG has it in a 120ish meg psd.
It's also possible emdkay has it on his FTP. Can anyone comment on if that's so and the quality?

Many thanks for any info as always!!

Paul

joymonkey was kind enough to host a site (and do the file conversions, etc) for the JPG versions of the artwork that a bunch of folks here bought in a group buy of a retailer that was getting out of the arcade artwork business.

Scott at GoG made the same buy on his own.  :applaud:

Same source material - JM just doesn't give you access to the original raw files in the various formats.

Gotcha, well nice to know they're the same. Guess that also means that it's unlikely I'll be able to get hold of the psd. Anyone know how compressed the Jpegs are on average?

Cheers

Paul.

I bought the artwork for my Star Wars mini from ClassicArcadeGraffix.... does that mean that Scott now has those files available? Because when you go on his site there is no Star Wars artwork shown.
