WOW :applaud: That is amazing. Not seen anything like that before. Where on earth do you get a LCD that size and shape?

Very nice cab, Edu.  I bet the cut down LCD cost as much as all the rest of the cab parts!  Good build and I love how the Neo Geo marquee's have the correct mini marquee.

As you can't see the top of the machine, I'm not sure if it IS a specially sized LCD. It might stick out of the top.

It does look nice, though. And if it were cut down, that would be really cool.

As you can't see the top of the machine . . . .

At 2:09 he pans up for a second and it looks to me like a cut down LCD with no projection above the cab.

Edu, did you get a factory modified LCD?  How was the experience buying and working with it?

I stand corrected! You are right. I only watched about half the video.

Nice job there, Edu.

Wonderful.  I'd love to get one for my cab but I bet the final price will be pretty high.  Let us know if the manufacturer needs more beta testers in the US!

Nice. If he wants to sell them in the US, this is the place to advertise them.

Holy shitballs!
I need these so much! I can see these all over the house, not only on a cab.
Like, get newsfeeds over the entrence door, weather forcast (tilting the monitor 90', to be vertical), twitter feeds, tv-guide.. my mind is blown!

One of the HyperSpin guys had a video showcasing his marquee monitor. His was made by LG I believe, and cost like $1,900 or something like that. Either way...yes very cool. If I could got ahold of one for under $300 I would definitely pick one up. But I don't think that's possible.

Here's the video I was referring to:

Yea, your monitors look more to the correct size of your average marquee. Definitely keep us postd on pricing...but I know it will not be affordable.  ;D

At least for me. Really neat novelty though.

---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, that monitor would really be perfect as a marquee for a multigame cabinet. I definitely want one. But there would also be a demand for hires marquee pictures.

Very nice and definitely something that makes your cabinet very unique from anything else that is out there. It would nice if you had some sort of tutorial on how you did it just in case others (including myself) were interested in implementing the same thing on our cabs.

Is that 540 Euro before VAT?  What are the shipping costs? If that is after VAT do you accept VAT forms?

Euro has been tanking, I think if I wait this out I may be able to save from dienero.

This got me thinking- if they could cut down an LCD to make that shape, couldn't they cut off part of a 37 in widescreen to make a larger 4:3 LCD?  :dunno

Can you not do the same thing with a roller blind, a drill motor and vinyl printing.  I mean how many games do you play on your cab?  10? 20?

Can you get something between 22" and this 43" LG LTI430LA01 at 4:1?

Something like a 28" in a 4:1 aspect ratio?
Because 43" is too crazy big, and 22" is not good for full sized cabs.
The 22"s would be nice for Bartops though.

when trying to build a multi touch a few years ago, I took apart a lcd, and one thing led to another, I destroyed it (worked great until I tried to fix up a few things.

But one thing to try is to take apart a cheap lcd and bend the (slightly) the top (or side, which ever doesn't have the connector attached).  Then cut down all the other layers and put it on the bottom half.  The top half will probably stop working (no big deal) but you can get where only 1/2 is working.  Trouble would be getting the software to put the marquee just on the bottom (and mounting it).

Anyway, it might be a fun project for someone with a cheap LCD they aren't using.  My only one left already has a project tagged to it.

The other idea could be a micro projector (200 bucks these days right?) and a back lit screen.  I'm not sure how good they are, but if they can't handle the situation where they are inside a wood box... when are they useful?

That is seven different kinds of kick @$$ right there. That little item is the next thing to really make MAME cabinets awesome! Full fledged MAME cabinet with all the classics and changing Marquees to go with it???? Where's lottery money when you need it to mass produce these things  :burgerking:

Very interested in the look of this display. Iv been looking into what to put in the marquee space of my Golden Tee conversion arcade project. What are the dimensions of this unit and where can I look at it more? Is it on a website? And finally would I have to alter my marquee artwork files to fit display.
