Volume control problem
« on: November 06, 2011, 08:41:33 am »
Hi all,

Been a while since I poste here and since my cab is done. On that subject, I have now a strange behavior that I have probably triggered at some point (or my kids since they are smashing all buttons at once). Well, now when I press button 2 a white volume bar appears at the bottom of the screen and when I move the joystick left or right it lower or raise the volume. I may have installed this in the past but wasnt maybe activated. You guys know where it is coming from and how I can change it ?

Thank you !

This is what happen when you dont keep up with your cab config hehe.

Ho and I am running AtomicFE

Is this during a game, from within the FE, or any time at all?

My first guess is that this is occurring when MAME is running, and you have somehow mapped a key to it's volume control.

Check your MAME settings and/or key output from encoder.

In Mame, hit tab, pick Input(general), then Other Settings (depending on mame version, wording might be a bit different).  Volume should be found in the list there.

For your keyboard encoder, there are different ways to test output (check wiki for software to show key presses).

Yes just noticed it is in game. Sounds like it should do it! Thanks a lot!

Well I dont find a volume option under mame beside "Volume UP" and "Volume Down" that doesnt appear to do a thing. I have noticed that when I map a button now there is a white square around the designated button in the mame menu. Does that mean another button may be stuck or something ?

I still cant get rid of that probleme... grrr

Found solution here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=81479.0
Debug mode was the problem somehow.
Thanks anyway!
