Ya seems normal, I have the same problem with one of my ultrastiks. Its the magnet itself hitting the metal bracket. I dont use analog I have all the ultrastiks setup for 8way 4way etc. So a slight movement to UPR registers. Try moving the joystick very slowly and see if it will reach all the way.

I have mine set to 8way too and that's what I started looking into it. I was trying to play fighter games and I couldn't go diagonal so I started looking into it and switched my joysticks and the other one works fine.

There was a known issue with the little ring that goes around the stick.  Some people were getting little shavings coming off that which was causing the symptom you're describing.

I think Andy changed the materials to address that.  There's a number of threads on BYOAC about this.

Anyway, that might be what you're running into.

None of the four I've owned do that.  I'd ask Andy, he's pretty quick to respond to emails.

This is an analog mode issue relative to the tracking of the magnet underneath, and where the shaft centers.
