No background music from layout....

I can't get sound from any layout with 1.71.  I have 'enable sound' checked.  and 'use background music from layout' checked.  I set the background music in the layout to the MP3 I want to play but I still get no background music when I launch MaLa.  I see the layout, but no music.  I'm using a Mala "tree".   Anything I could be overlooking with 1.71?  It works fine on my desktop with version 1.05.

Yes, That means MaLa can't find the 'Wave' on your sound cards mixer. It needs that I think

Forget what I said    

The TOP one is wav. If you move that you will notice that the windows wav moves too!!

I am not sure why the Music Sub Volume is dimmed? Need to check

My 'sub volume' is also greyed out.  I was able to raise it up after I unchecked 'use background music from layout'.  I then rechecked the box, the sub volume was at max but I still couldn't get any sound from the layout.  I hope I made sense

If you can be patient as that bit of teh code is a bit untidy. It may take a week or so

Not much luck loadman.  The background music worked one time then didn't the next.  MaLa locked up on many occasions.  Had to control/alt/delete to get out of it.  It's virtually unuseable.  I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

Thanks for testing and reporting. I will recheck the BG Muzac code.

But also are you saying there is a major stability issue between 1.710 and 1.718? Does mala lock up on earlier versions?  That bit does not add up. Did you have two versions running in error.  I don't understand

I just replaced the MaLa exe file with the new one.  Then things started acting up.  Maybe I accidently did something wrong because I put the 1.71 back and I was having issues.  Do I need to delete something when replacing the MaLa exe?  I'm going to re-install both of the versions over the weekend and see what happens.  I'll keep them completely seperate folders.

You should not have to do anything other than replace the MaLa's if using the same folder (it will need to be call MaLa.exe ) I certainly recommend running mala beta's in a separate folders
