Ah, VIC 20 - my first computer.

Me too, but returned it in 2 days and got the real deal (C64). Probably took me 6 months to get a 1541 drive.
Today, I still have 4-5 C64 put away.
My cab in 1993 was a DKong and it was gutted. I HACK the C64 and shove it in the cab. Create my own BASIC PROGRAM menu with joystick control and I have loaded everything in a Hard Drive ( I think it was 1GB). I went over my head using a HEX editor and edited the GAMES to say what I wnated it to say. EX: instead of "Press F1" to start, I changed it to "Press Fire to Start" etc...

I did this way before MAME existed.
Ah! ! ! ! Memories

TheNasty, do you still have those games by any chance?  Would love to incorporate this into my cab.

I have a complete backup of my C64 Menu and Games that I edited. It's put away.
I use to have x1541 cable so I can transfer the GAME/FILES to my Pc. After that, I use a NULL modem going thru a BBS type program in my C64 and in the PC, using (forgot the nema) a terminal program to access the C64 download section.

So where I'm at, i don't have it in the PC, its all in the C64. If i get a chance, maybe I will loo into trasfering the games to the PC.
