WG9800 losing signal every few minutes
« on: January 14, 2010, 08:19:00 am »
To be clear this does not happen during game play but if left unattended for a few minutes the monitor says 'NO SIGNAL IN'. Once I move the mouse or trackball the screen returns but this sucks because I want the front end to be displaying at all times. I turned off the screen saver, turned it on and neither option works. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  ???

Thanks in advance,
MG

Sounds like your PC is in power save mode (stops sending a signal to the monitor after a period of inactivity) or it's going to sleep or something.  Go back into where you set up your screen saver and shut all that stuff off.

Indeed. Check your PC's power settings and disable stuff like "Turn off monitor after xx minutes" etc. I have all power saving features disabled on my cab. On Windows XP you will find it under Start -> Control panel -> Power options

Guys, I can't thank you enough, this was exactly the problem! Those clowns at WG tech support didn't even think of what should have been the most obvious first solution. I just can't believe I didn't think of it, ah well, live and learn. Thanks again.

:) Glad it wasn't a bigger issue!
