Hello All, this is my first post and im glad i found this website. Here's my long long long long long story.
Well I am an enthusiast of old or classic or vintage coin op and any other coin op there is (If it runs on coins I'll probably like it [Excluding Coin-Op Laundry]). My Tastes change around from time to time. I'm pretty sure it started with billiards. Since i was young i was fastinated by how things worked and found billiard tables to be interesting back then. You know, how the coin releases the balls and how it separates the cue ball from the rest. Then i learned to play pool and have kept it in the back of my mind since. After that I decided i wanted one, then i found out about game rooms. I was amazed by all the things you can have in one, pinball, a bar, home theater, etc. and I wanted to know everything you could put in there. I have always like the idea of gambling and enjoyed playing the games such as poker and blackjack (of course no actually betting [not even in my teens at the time]). Slot machines had me curious since. Then i found out many people are putting Pachislos in their game rooms (japanese slot machines). I was fasinated and wanted one as well. Then I wanted to know how one worked and so i searched google for how they work and came up with a video called
Tim Hunkin On Slot Machines (watch it, it explains alot about different coin op machines). Near the end of the video he showed a very dusty 1940's slot machine. He played a round and then took it out of its casing and spun it again. All the non-electric, completely mechanical beauty. It was incredible, incredibly complicated, just how i liked it. I soon found out how those worked and when i found out they cost over 1500 dollars

i gave up on them and tried something less antique. That led me to modern slot machines from vegas and i leared how those work and how i could buy one for over 800 dollars

, still too much for three spinning reels. so then i found Fruit Machines, from the UK they are essentially slot machines that are extremely interactive and at around 150 to 350 euros or pounds (i forget which) used. There are alot more decisions to make and you can gamble your winnings as well as gamble your winnings from previously gambled winnings. With chance wheels, trails, and many other extra features they seem to be my favourite slot machine type (check them out their incredible). After that i needed to find something else to do other than find out how stuff works, and of course i looked at how old pinball and new pinball works along the way but then i stumbled across something different.

Something simpler, yet brought joy and frustration to many. Carnival games. i developed a love especially for the most classic of all carnival games, SKEEBALL

I found this forum because of that. I found a post where someone build a full size coin op skeeball and my jaw hit the floor. Then i decided to choose a different game since building a full sized skeeball was done. I had been to dave and busters recently (large redemption game facility, bar, restaurant and pool hall and saw their version of a horse racing game that you would find at the carnival.

Fantastic i knew i would be the first to build that. Then i sort of left the idea, i became more interested in these redemption games and soon i found ICE's latest product, PHOTO FINISH here's the link.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. It gave me the idea and some general dimensions (which i worked into proper size) and i started to build my own less expensive version (2 player and possibly expandable). This is where I will keep my progress.
Wow that was long, or is that what my typing hands are telling me.
