Makaron Running Sloooooooow
« on: September 22, 2009, 04:36:40 pm »
I have it set to what the settings were to begin with now, but it's just to slow no matter what settings I input into the naomi.ini. Any ideas? My pc is a core 2 duo at almost 3.0ghz, I can't figure it out. I have XP SP3 and an AVGA2 w/J-Pac

Its your videocard, unlike MAME, Makaron used the 3d acceleration on your card. Unfortunatly the AVGA is a less than steller card.

I wonder if you could use 3danalyzer to force t&l (or other advaced video processing) and force makaron to handle video processing on the CPU side.

I have a quad core with integrated video and I can run 3danalyzer with makaron just fine.

What's your settings?

EDIT: This sucks. Everything runs very smooth, the 3D backgrounds on the menus on Capcom vs SNK 2, the sounds, the character select, but once I get to the stage, it just bogs down. I can play it but its just slow, the characters are moving in slow motion, but the sound is correct, its like the animation is bogging down but if I delay my control presses I can play the games, barely. I can't figure it out, I have 3Danalyzer running force SW TnL and that's all. It isn't helping. Naomi.ini is still at default. The only game that works decent is Street Fighter Zero Upper

I had the same problem back when I was trying to use NullDC, before Makaron left it in the dust.  I ended up switching to a Radeon x1950-pro and using soft15khz, and now I can rock out and hit people with boat anchors run Guilty Gear, CVS and all that just fine.

The x1950 requires some different settings for soft15khz due to its  higher pixel clock, so check around that thread for more info.

It may just be this build of makaron, version t12. I tried to go to t11 and see if it were faster, but my roms wouldn't work for it, I kept getting error 01 which I've read is a region error, but I'm using the same bios from t12 that works.

I don't think its the video card, but I've tried all I can. I've tried 3danalyzer, it does its adjustments but it still runs the same. I have a core 2 duo e8200 with 2 gigs of ram. It seems to lock down at 25fps during gameplay, but menu selections and everything else is running at 60fps. I'm lost. I can't try nulldc, nothing would run on it. I tried T11 of makaron, nothing would run on it. T12 everything runs, but super slow.

I don't think its the video card,

Why do you think its not your video card?  I think it has to be.

I lowered the speeds to 100 and it was about 30fps, if I lower it more it is slower, if I raise it it doesn't help. Anyway, I don't think its the card because I've used 3danalyzer and it was running the same exact speed as without. I'll run it on a 9800gx2 and see how it is. T12 is slower than T11, but I can't get T11 to work.
