Custom Vewlix Xbox 360 Cabinet
« on: July 08, 2009, 11:24:11 am »
I've been in the process of building a custom vewlix cabinet for the past month. I receive alot of tips from browsing through the forums (also Donovan Myers)and decided I might as well give back to the community. Here are some of my pics which may are may not spark some questions, but hopefully I can help someone. I don't have any 100% complete photos yet but will have some soon. My entire build process can be viewed at

also here is a quick video just to show it

Barefoot with power tools....

Do I even need to explain why this is a bad idea?
Introducing The Tone Ledger, a premium 5x7 inch, 100 pg notebook designed for guitarists, bassists, keyboardists...pretty much anyone who enjoys using amps and pedals. Great for experienced musicians, hobbyists, or students just getting started.

Sorry I didn't comment on the the actual post. That looks very nice. I'm a fan of the vewlix style, but have never seen one in the wild, only on here.

My wife would kill me if I were drilling downward through a CP on a wood floor.  I would be more worried about my wife than my feet!   :laugh2:

I built my entire cabinet either barefoot or in flipflops.

Power tools werent the issue, it was getting bondo and paint out of my leg hair!

Looks good. I'm in the process of building one myself. Better get on the ball I guess and get it finished.

I was following your process too. Was hoping to get a few ideas, but I guess I had more time to work on it than you. I actually a few days after you.

Hopefully some of the mainstream arcade cabinet makers will add this to their product line.  Seems simple enough to CNC and ship out.

Now that would be ---smurfin--- kick ass.

Yeah, no ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- on the floor deal. Props for drilling them holes without a press. They look pretty good. Outstanding work in general. Also, in the video, a walk around the thing woulda been neat.
