I've always thought Orion was a neat name.  I think you should swap the two!

part of me hopes a doctor has done that to you permanently, but then if you did mate with a female the resulting offspring would be infertile anyway so its not really an issue.
do you get the joke? inter species offspring are infertile, i'm saying you're not human, no human speaks like you do.

I agree. And while I did do that more than ten years ago, I realised I didn't have to. But I wasn't really aware of that capacity, nor would I have been confident enough about it. Anyways, no more from me in this thread, so as not to further spoil it.

I meant the BABYs room singular.  But the wife is already talking about having another one.   :censored:   :banghead:

she doesnt realize how much of my money is going to the baby and not arcade or video games.  I need to make a pie chart or something.   :laugh2:

I have 2 kiddos and shelled out $10K to the day care last year. And that wasn't even a fancy New Yorkish daycare, just a regular one.  For those of you playing at home, you are only allowed to deduct $3K for each kid on your taxes (US). My wife sometimes bumps her gums about having another one and I have visions in my head of chopping my nuts off with a hatchet.
You probably remember me from such films as `The Revenge of Abe Lincoln' and `The Wackiest Covered Wagon in the West'

You can set up a tax sheltered FSA for daycare, though, which also helps.  A lot of employers offer to do that for you as a benefit.

Congrats and man.......november 19 is a great date.

It's my birthday

And to make it even better: your boy would be born on the day I turn...........42 !

 :laugh2: :laugh2:

By the way, is it common to release the name to the public before it's even born ?

Ya know, when my wife was pregnant we didn't want to know the gender before it got born (that's a personal choice over here, many people do, many don't). The ultrasone operator wrote it on a note and put it in a sealed envelope to open up after the birth and of course she got it right. I think even I saw what it was (yes, we know our joysticks), but hey, might also have been wishful thinking.

However, most people only "release" the name after the birth over here. It usually is kept very secret between the dad and mum. Just interested in cultural differences....

Interesting.  My wife and I didn't find out the sex for our children but were open about the names that we had chosen.  That's pretty common for my family/friends/coworkers etc.

I do have one oddball brother in law who not only wont tell the names, but wouldn't tell the SEX to his mother after the baby was born because he hadn't told his five year old son yet.  WTF?  Why not wait to call mom until it's safe to tell everyone and it's not like grandma was going to call him and talk about it.   ::)

Interesting cultural differences though.   :)

Congrats walls83!  As the father of twins, make sure you do what CT said.  Learn the difference between babies and baby's.  Big difference!   ;D

We are pretty open about the name before the baby is born.  Now if we had friends/family that was going to have a baby around the same time we would probably be a little more careful since we dont want the name taken by someone.

My aunt tried to take my name when her son was born and my mom didn't stand for that.  So he got my name as his middle name.

Anna my wife just entered the 3rd trimester.  She is getting big and hes all over the place kicking.  I nicknamed her "gut".  luckily I got a cool wife and she thinks its funny.  Ive already felt the wrath of a pregnant woman and let me tell you none to fun.

Congratulations!!! It doesn't get any better than having a child. That is, if you can make through the pregnancy  ;D

When my wife was pregnant we were walking through a flea market. We passed an advertisement for some kind of body building supplement. There was a musclebound woman with a horseface and a big gap in her front teeth. I pointed to the ad and said "why can't you look like that?" It was at that point that I realized pregnant women do not have much of a sense of humor. She stormed off to spite my pleas that I was joking. I lost sight of her in the crowd. So I looked around for about 10 minutes. When I could not find her I decided to go out front near the car to wait for her. She was ANGRY!!! She yelled the whole way home. Then when we got home she proceeded to call her sisters and friends and tell them that I tried to leave her at the flea market without a car. I still hear about it to this day. She says "You just don't say that to a pregnant woman, even if you are kidding," while her sisters nod disapprovingly  ::)

Heh. We got one of those 3-dimensional ultrasounds with our last child (6 now). Prior to that we got the older traditional black and white 2-dimensional (10 years ago).
