Hi guys
I'm currently building my first cab and have been working on the artwork and this is what i have for the CP.
What do you guys think and what should I change?
If you havent guessed the cab is zombie themed (I REALLY love zombies lol) and the photo is a edited photo of me

I'm definitely a fan of horror movies. I would be scared to touch the cp with that motive

At the moment thats all the artwork i have done but the plan is to keep the theme black, red and zombies.
not sure how im going to do the side art tho as i want photos and working on the cp art at 300dpi in photoshop killed the speed of my pc!

I love zombies, but I also like everyone being able to play my cab. I think that would scare the kiddos away! (This could be seen as a positive, though)

I think you need a little more depth to the "arcade", it seems a little flat and too white. Also some of the blood appears to be brighter than any of the blood you have on the cp.

The blood in the lettering was brighter so that it keeps it standing out.
however I have darkened the blood over the text slightly and added some depth to the text (or at least tried to lol)

If you have video expertise...You could take the scene with Bub(DayofDead) saluting and have Mame fade in the bottom...pretty cool intro...

I really like this idea might have to give it a go.
Im using hyperspin for my FE and was planning on using game themes but i think now im just gonna make a theme for each console i have and keep it zombies

I was just looking at their suggested 4-way stick. Don't get the E-stik (or Happ Universal). Go with the Ms Pac-man 4-way from Tornado Terry's. It's an awesome dedicated stick.

I'm planning on simplifying the cp layout to 6 buttons and a 4/8 way joystick per player to make it simpler for me to wire and i found this kit http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products/cabbuildno1.htm
I wanna use a kit as its my first build and i really have no idea all the bits i need to buy so i figured get a kit because it has everything

UPDATE
Just finished my first draft of the side art. This is very low res compared to the real file (which weighs in at a hefty 4GB!) so its not quite as clear
The text does show up well at full size but is slightly blurry in the preview. Once again feel free to let me know what you think.

I used pics of me as I'm a proformer and spend alot of time dressed up as a zombie all year round! plus i love zombies and classic zombie games like resident evil and house of the dead so i figured it world be fitting
I also have a HUGE ego so that added to the design direction alittle lol

"Zombies!!!" is a great board game. We used to have more time to play it. I miss it.

speaking of performing.....here what my friend did one weekend...it was funny because I got one of my friends to borrow a rascal from an elderly man and he went as a zombie on a rascal...

OK so I have been working on some themes for hyperspin and this is what i have done so far

(sorry for the crappy capture lol)
since this video i have removed the blue pointer and all the video overlays.
All the background images are Desktop wallpapers i found odd google with the blood splats added by me

I have tried to keep animation to a min to keep it less cartoonie. also there is very little difference between themes so that overall it looks less messy.
I plan to edit all the console logos to make them look bloody lol

Ok so i have replaced all the wheel sound fx in hyperspin for gunshots and zombie moans but i have one question for you guys. Does anyone know why it will use the sounds for a while but then it just stops using them and stays quiet?
Its really confusing me now lol
I have also finished all the skins for the different consoles and used each skin as default for its console submenu (if that makes any sence lol

I beleive, and you should ask on the Hyperspin forum, that the sounds are all randomized and sometimes do not "fire". Now if it goes completely quiet all the time i would say theres a bad sound in your pack that may have crashed the sound driver perhaps.

Check the Hyperspin website...I think I saw a past thread there about the sound pack...I could be wrong, but I think there was thread where you had to have a certain number of sound mp3 to get it to work right...( I COULD BE WRONG)...I think I am going to double check....

BBB right....short and sweet and mp3s.

Now I think there is a bug...I made a fighter theme for my fighter games and i had placed a sound byte to play when i select a game....i saved it as an mp3 using editing software, but it wouldnt play correctly...I had to end up burning a cd with that sound byte and then rip it back to mp3 on wmplayer...
Never could figure that one out to save my life...

Damien....The cab looks great...I cant wait to see it when it is completed...But promise me this....find a maniquin, and fix him up to look like Tarman and have em clutching the side of the cab, place a speaker in his head and have it say "BRAIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSS!"

The footage is from the intro for resident evil 1
the music is by a band called send more paramedics (they are a "zombiecore" punk band but they did a special cd of horror music)

Its getting built as we speak lol I have trusted a friend of mine to do it as he has far better woodworking skills than i do
I lack the ability to put up shelves let alone a arcade cabinet

He is taking his sweet

time tho. I also need to get the money together for printing and controllers so it should be a couple of weeks lol
