Here are a few picks of my cabinet and man cave.  They are a few years old, i have since moved the cab, contemplated building a fancier control panel, and bought a new projector ;)

I know I might catch some slack for this, but I am not a fan of Imo's, or St. Louis style pizza at al.  IMHO provolone cheese belongs in the trash, however Erio's pizza by the airport is extremely yummy...

CP's and Chucks are the same thing.  CP's Pinball arcade.....owned by a guy named Chuck.

Check it out.  http://www.cppinball.com/  Well worth the time and money (only $10) and you can bring your own booze.  Really a one of a kind place.

And you can burn in hell for dissing on IMO's   Just kidding but actually IMO's uses provel cheese, not provolone, those are two different kinds of cheeses.  Provel cheese is the best cheese for pizza ever.

I know a guy from Chicago that once told me he'd rather take a load in his mouth than eat Provel cheese. I guess it's not for everyone.  :puke

No, it rhymes with Lace. But Lycke would probably volunteer to deliver said load.

I stand corrected, provel cheese, the blend made especially for the st. louis region.  However, I still feel it belongs in the sewer, with the rats.

South Roxana, isn't that where Dave Glover is always talking about?  I am not much of a pinball guy, but I may have to visit.  Do they have one of those cool VP machines that people on this board make?   I would love to see one of those up close.

You know that is the one thing CP's is missing, a VP table.  Hopefully, PBW79 will chime in here tonight and give us some kind of update on that as I believe he was/is working with Chuck on building one of those.  I would love to see one in person to gauge whether the end product would justify me building one for myself.

CapriRS302 did you really just say that about my momma...I mean pizza?

The LCD pinball project is lacking the necessary cabinet(s) to progress further. I had my money tied up in the wedding back in Feb so I mistakenly (and very very drunkenly) told Chuck to wait a few months on the project. He was going to part out two working games just to get the wide body WMS cabinets which made me really nervous since I was all cash scared at the time & didnt want to say "thanks for parting those cabs out & losing your ass....but...um I'm too broke to do this now".

But then I ran into some money AND my wife says "use the 46" over the fireplace".....Well ---fudgesicle--- where was all this dandy info a few weeks prior?

Anyway I told him I was ready to rock in April ...now we wait for empties to surface, but with a well networked pin addict like Chuck we should get em eventually.

Kegerator, pinmame, storm trooper, sit down racer, strippers....my list is growing.

That video is hilarious  :laugh2:

Poor kegerator...... :'(

But yippie on a WELL DOCUMENTED visual pinball cabinet......you got the part about the WELL DOCUMENTED hint there right?  OK good.  There may be a new subforum here dedicated solely to these projects.  Not sure if Saint has done that yet though.

That cabinet looks famaliar...he didnt part out a working DM did he?  If thats a different cabinet Chuck must be the gatekeeper for all things DM, alot of those machines go through his doors.

I look forward to the upcoming project....keep us posted!

Ah well documented = you learning from my mistakes...I will def start a project thread in a few weeks once progress is made & of course my local BYOAC'rs are welcome to play it when its completed.

Gotta say however I am not sure about this 46" ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, its perfect on the wide body games as I expected (TZ, IJ, STTNG) but its just plain weird on the standard body tables more so that I expected. Dont get me wrong its still awesome but its odd playing a wide body huge honkin TSPP. Then again maybe real pinball machines are too small & this my chance to make em bigger  >:D Regardless the 46" is going in it since TZ & STTNG are very important to me & I suck at pinball repairs. Attached are some pics to see how the size of a real pinball stacks up to the emulated version FYI

As for the DM cabinet its from a "warehouse" raid, Chuck has to still find a head for it & the DMD holder thing (wtf is that even called).

I have my bottom cabinet, lock down bar/assembly, side rails, keywhiz, buttons, wire, new feet, new legs, new bolts & a 46" LCD

To acquire: coin door, glass, head, translite glass, artwork, 2 smaller monitors & the PC of course.

As for a theme I plan on paying one of our members here in the forum to create a WW2 bomber pinup girl inspired cabinet/head decal set. Going to name it "Pin up", have it olive with the divots & bullet holes + the shark art, exhaust pipes & of course a pin up girl playing pinball. Yeah, it should be pretty cool I think (blazing angles arcade shown as a rough example)

Damn, this is almost a project announcement

Here is the completed "death to all other current projects" project. Now to start saving some dough. The plan is to save up about $1800, then put VND up for sale. Once sold, use the proceeds for another A list pinball...or a virtual pinball project, if PW79's blows me away. I'm sure by the time I collect some money, you will be done.

I seriously may sell all of my machines because I am so sick of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- breaking & the LCD pin is really cool.

When you play on a small screen the ball seems to move too fast or unnatural but when the ball has to travel 3 feet on the screen it sure feels real.

---fudgesicle--- this thing its all I think about, well that & the Realtor

I call dibs on the JP.

Looks like you already have the software setup on the LCD project so thats a good first step.  Are you going to incorporate a nudge feature?

Nice pool, how many days out of the year do you get to use it?

More than I used the boat that I sold to finance it. Probably 4 months, or so, depending on whether I run the heater.

Nudge: Faux Shaux going to use Chriz99's idea of mercury switches... Previously he taped off sections of multiple tilt sensors which was cool too. That dudes machine is without a doubt the reason I am building mine http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=98252.0

Software: That was just a single monitor/graphic card run via my boring desk/office PC (with a handfull of downloads). Something tells me I have a long road in front of me with the rest of the tables, monitors, hyperspinfe & doing things I don't understand like assigning certain processes to overclocked independent cores or whatever all that means.

I cant wait to play it either, my ideas for art/theme are really taking off too!

so what's your budget estimate on this project? My primo pinball budget (probably TSPP and at least a year down the road) is in the neighborhood of 3 large.

When I was looking at doing a minipin, the numbers were shaping up to be in the neighborhood of $1200...that was with much smaller monitors than you are using.

I think total costs will run about $3,500-$4,000 which is a bummer too because for that price I could have a kegerator, storm trooper & my sit down Cruisn game...

It was a tough call but when I VP'd on the 46" for testing I was all hypnotized n ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- by it. Seriously for a minute there I lost touch with reality & was all excited that I just bought Black Knight, STTNG & a few others. Then reality came back "aw crap, I didnt buy those machines & the device that tricked me isnt even built".

Now I am sad, may have to get a Rx until its completed.

Its like that feeling when you hear a cool techno song & then all the sudden say "aww ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- is that Abba mixed in here, damn not cool".

So, would a 42" playfield have roughly the same dimensions as a standard playfield? That could shave off $400-$500. Are the standard pf games blown up on your 46"? I know you are looking for good representation on TZ, IJ, and the other widebodies, but does it sacrafice accuracy on the others? Or can you chop the egdes to size it right ala standard TV signal on an HD TV?

A 42" is prob the best way to go unless you are like me & just have to have GNR, TZ, IJ & STTNG all super duper emulated....Space invaders too  ;D

Everything else is like a lottery of maybe weird vs maybe not so weird.  Some tables handle it a lot better than others thats for sure. TSPP is just plain WTF but BK, gorgar, HS & lots of others seem damn close. It may have more to do with the author but who knows? Honestly though its super cool & you will get past the slightly larger scale in 2.1 seconds I assure you. My expereince with this is only about 10 tables deep so far so i am not an authority on the subject but what I have seen so far has captivated me.

Damn, damn, damn! This thing is maybe, no it is cooler than anything I will have in my basement.

I doubt you can scale it properly but if so I will utilize that on a couple table fo show.

I'm gonna try to get to CP's on the 10th (saturday). My last night of kid freedom, then they come home from gramma's. Of course the wife is likely to try to throw a monkey wrench in my plan, so we'll have to see when it gets closer.

I desperately need to get out there.  Maybe I can swing it this weekend as well......maybe....

PBW - I'm with you on the 46" LCD TV.  I would want something that fills out my cabinet.  Since yours is a widebody cabinet it only makes sense.  To me it would seem weird to have a widebody cabinet on have to fill in extra space on the sides to make the skinnier 42" TV sit in there.

BTW - I now hold the high score on Mrs. Pacman at the Fuddpuckers at Destin, FL.  All while holding my 7 month old daughter in one arm while playing.  Pretty lame I know but its the only place in the world....other than my basement.....that I have a high score anywhere.

However, wife is making a prodution of it...plan on hitting Fat Eddy's in the afternoon, then CP's and bringing some of her weirdo friends. Well...weirdo is a subjective term in this case...probably normal...even cool at CP's. They'll fit right in with Napoleon Dynamite and Fat Jesus. But I doubt they'll be drinking PBR.

Flake was planning on watching Twilight anyway, he'll have to come up with another way to butter up the wife.  :laugh2:

I meant the 10th of course not this weekend....

So after a whole week of no kids your liver will be hoping for a vacation of its own.

I couldnt get through the first Twilight movie without falling asleep.  Quite honestly I have no idea how that franchise became so hot.  The chick in it is not even that hot.  Actually, LL's wife would seem to me to be the kind of girl who would be all spanky about that sort of film.

Who's in for a road trip to KC to go cheap pin shopping?

As soon as you buy VND from me, I am down with a roadie. Helldweller (wife) didn't even like Twilght 1. She rented it and forced me to watch it. At the end, I was like, WTF...vampires that sparkle in the sun instead of bursting into flames? I was expecting her to defend it, but instead she agreed it was very gay. BTW, HD (Helldweller (wife)) has an extensive history of picking ---smurfy--- movies at the redbox.

BTW - did you ever fix VND to get is salable?

Well lately I cant say much for my Redbox selections.  I rented The Road Monday night and holy ---fudgesicle--- is that an awful movie.  I was sucked in by the premise of a post-apocalyptic society but A) they dont say why or how the world got in that shape, and B) you really didnt know WTF the goal of the two main characters (Dad and son, played by Viggo Mortensen and some kid) was.  In the end the Dad just dies from being sick and the kid goes off with another family.

Sorry the rant but damn that movie was terrible.  I would rather watch the complete Twilight Trilogy in consecutive viewings before wasting 2 hrs. on that movie again.

Well, it kinda has a mind of its own. Basically, I can play it whenever I want, but if you or Chadwick come over, it acts up.

If You'd endour 6 hours of teenie bopper wet dream crap before watching it, then I will likely steer clear. Not enough time in the day as it is.

BTW, my wife once rented "Be Cool"...the worst movie I have ever seen (at least that I haven't mentally blocked from my memory...and I wish I could block this one).

I'll take almost any vampire movie as long as they play by vampire rules. I'll even give Blade a pass because he is his mother was bit by a vampire when she was pregnant making him a daywalker...and he totally kicked ass (and the rest of the vamps burst into flames in the sun). But sparkling...really?

Quality Vamp flicks:

Lost Boys
Interview with a Vampire
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Dusk til Dawn

Honorable mention:   Buffy the Vampire Slayer...come on, Donald Sutherland and Peewee Herman in the same movie, not to mention Kristy Swanson isn't hard to look at.

I've certainly seen worse. My wife watched Dracula 2000 on on-demand a couple of months ago.

Kool & the gang. I'm planning on leaving Fat Eddies at or around 6, so I should be there. I know a bunch of people are meeting us at Fat Eddies, I'm sure at least a few will go to CPs.
