New projector for the Theater
« on: September 24, 2011, 05:34:19 pm »
WOW..  Just upgraded from the Epson Home 10, to the Epson 8350.  50,000: 1 Contrast ratio, which is overdoing it...  I dont the eyes can pick up anything over 10,000 or something like that... 2000 lumens, 1080p,,, etc...  Couple that with NFL Sunday ticket and the party is at my house on Sundays.  :-)  If anyone is in the market, I highly recommend it...

Epson Projectors are very good, and the bulb replacements are very reasonable.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

For a while the best price I could find was a sale from projectorpeople for 1099, but the sale ended...  Best buy has them also, but for 1299, I bought mine for $1049.00 from an Epson reseller, League Technologies.  Ask for Bruce or Peter...  Great people...

I've been looking at the Optoma HD33 1080p 3D projector myself unfortunately the lowest I've been able to find it for is 1499 I can't wait to upgrade. Also if your interested in DIY Anamorphic Lens check this out http://www.zuggsoft.com/theater/prism.htm it's a nice feature/solution that is not to hard to implement I know i'll be be using this setup.
