Yes AF = Addams Family.

Personally havent been wowed by that game the few times I've played but 1.) I wouldnt pass up ownership for a good deal and 2.) its hard to really develop a concrete opinion on a game after only having played it a handful of times.

I agree on all accounts. However, if a game is generally sold for $3-$4K and you can pick it up for $2500, I'd roll the bones (assuming it is in good shape). Clean it up, play it until you solidify your opinion, then if you don't aggree with the hoards, sell it for a little profit.

Gotta be quick on the draw for CL pins...especially if someone doesn't know what they have.

I have only played AF a few times, and it has never wowed me.  Maybe it is all the hype.  I do have a sneaking suspision that I may enjoy it if I owned one and had enough plays on it.  If I didn't like it, oh well, trade it for a pin I do like.  AF at that price shouldn't be tough to put out as trade bait.

So not being a big fan of AF, I was slow on the draw and it is gone, forever.

Well heh, if your feeling down about losing out on a AF deal.  There is always this gem.  I'm betting its still available.

Who here wants to bet me PBJ has owned this machine before and rates it very highly?

Viper Night Drivin' Update

It's supposed to rain later this week, so I plan to do some major cleaning, waxing, replacing rubbers, and adding some LEDs. I replaced the 2 broken targets and fixed the 3rd. The slingshots and other switches are all working now and it is playable. There is a faulty solder on one of the slingshots that needs to be addressed at some point, but I'm not sure which one it is yet. I have also been scrubbing the glo-balls and letting them sit in 409 for a couple of days. They are actually pretty close to clean. Now I refuse to put them in the machine until I get it cleaned up better.

So, I have my DMD issue that I haven't even started to tackle yet and one black light lamp that isn't firing up. Other than that, I am pretty close mechanically. I need to eventually replace some plastics and touch up some paint here and there. But she should turn out pretty decent. I have about $1200 in it and if the DMD doesn't need to be replaced, less than a hundred more ought to finish it. Of course that doesn't count parts that need to be replaced (plexiglas covers over black lights) that are impossible to find. Oh the perils of owning a small run machine.

She's from the other side of the creek. You know how you MO people are, you think you have to cross by kayak and walk 400 miles to get to IL.

Yeah, this weather isn't doing me any favors. Everytime it rains, it sets me back 4 or 5 days on the landscaping. My back yard has the worst soil maybe on the planet. It is about 90% clay. So I can't even get off the sidewalk without having 20 lbs of mud on each shoe that will NOT come off. I'm actually getting depressed. I have so much to do and can't even start. Not to mention, the pump and controls are on the backside and if I have to get to them, I have to slop through the mud with 40 lbs worth of clay on my feet.

No I didnt go, started working on my bar instead.

Pulling the trigger on a Summit kegerator here pretty soon. Took down my crappy shelves & mirror, moved the fridge into a storage area & began mudwork/repair from all the stuff I took down.

I even took off Friday to paint it, well that & get drunk  >:D

A bar is a fun project. Cool thing is you can go as simple or elaborate as you want. Wife is barking about an outside bar/cabana. Not in the cards I'm afraid. Especially considering you can walk through the basement door, turn left, walk 10 feet, and there is a bar.

Don't be a p***y and scale back on the island oasis now.  Build that cabana.  Doesn't have to be super elaborate just a straight bar with 3-4 stools that can house a fridge and margheritta mixer.

PBW - did you go with the summit due to noise concerns?  From what I read on them you might have to do a tower fan mod to reduce the foaming.  There is a guy who sells them on eBay or you make your own.  I did alot of research before I bought mine.  If you need a link/reference let me know.

Sure, I build her a cabana, then she wants a cabana boy. Where does it stop? However, if you wish to donate to the cabana fund, I'm sure we can find a good use for your money.

They finally finished my fence yesterday, so I guess we're good and legal now.

Too bad the weather sucks :badmood:

BTW - I hear its going to be beautiful this weekend.....especially on Sat...... ;D

Seriously though the last few summers around here have not been very kind to boat and pool owners.  Makes one rethink chunking down the kind of cash to buy either one when you can only use the damn thing for 8-10 weekends tops.  I say this but of course when the time comes for me I'll be scouring the earth for my first boat.

I had a boat the last 3 years and there were plenty of good weekends. It was just weird that it was 95-100 in June and the 4th of July weekend was like 62. It rains in this part of the world in May, fact of life. Can you ever remember a Memorial day weekend that ti didn't rain...significantly? I rember like one in the past 15 years.

Yeah, I'm planning on hitting it hard sunday. It will still be sloppy on saturday, so other than moving in material, there isn't a lot I can do. Let's be serious, once it dries out and I work a couple of days shoveling rock, I'll be complaining about that...it's what I do.

My bar wont be anything like the type you guys have.....made of freaking granite, stone, wood, stem cells & etc fine materials. Nope, this will just have some simple paintings mounted, a shelf for bottles & a kegerator where the fridge was. There are cabinets, formica & a crappy sink along with a place for 2-3 chairs.

I am going for the summit kegerator because it seems to be a good middle-groud from commercial units & some of the other residential units with bad reviews. I read about the cooling tower mod so thats prob something I will end up doing, well mos def actually if I get foam.

Yeah flake for sure any links you have would be welcome information

here is my humble bar right now, its a mess

To be accurate PBW, my bar is actually a perfect reproduction of the 3 stars in the constellation Orion's belt.

So now the question remains, did I whip and starve tens of thousands of slaves to construct my "ode to the heavens" or did aliens descend down upon me to provide the necessary advanced technology to construct it?

We'll probably never know until some 1,000 years from now when Indiana Jones great, great, great, great, great, great......grandson digs it up from the sands.   :D

Flake I read some posts by a keg mod dude from the forum you linked me, he almost makes me think everything other than commercial will require mods: http://stlhops.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=934

Does your true have a cooled tower or is it fine as is?

From what I've read ALL non-commercial units need some sort of tower cooler mod to reduce the massive amount of foaming you would get for the first pour or two.  These are not hard mods to do and like I said in a few previous posts if you wanted to be real lazy a guy sells the kit on Ebay.  I was just about the purchase a Dual tap Summit unit when I started reading more and more about people recommending looking on CL for a used commercial unit.

Commercial units have two advantages:  1) they all have a built in tower cooler already (mine has one) 2) they also circulate the air inside the unit better than a non-commercial unit.  They have a builit in fan that continuously cirulates the air.  Residential units cool the keg using whats called a cold plate.  Basically what I think happens is the cold plate is what gets cold and this cools down the entire inside of the unit (along with the keg).  The thing is they dont have anything circulating the air either so the cool air from the cold plate just sinks to the bottom.  Now the keg gets cold but the air on the bottom is colder than the air on the top without circulation potentially causing a "warm spot" in the beer line and thus creating foam.  The one other thing with a residential unit is they are wildly inconsistent with in being able to cool down to 38 degrees or below (wouldnt recommend below 35).

The only disadvantage (and its not one to take lightly) is that commercial units are noisy.  I find when I'm watching TV downstairs that depending on what show I'm watching and what channels its on I have to adjust volume accordingly when the kegerator cycles on.  Its not noticeable other than when you are downstairs by yourself watching TV.  Thats the only time it bugs me.  When you have company over and there is other ambient noise you wont notice the kegerator at all.

Personally if I were you I would buy this  http://stlouis.craigslist.org/bfs/1738869640.html but not for his asking price.  I would offer $500 and go from there.  This is exactly the same one I have but this one looks newer and not as beatup as mine.  I have about $800 in mine but thats after buying a new dual tap tower, keg couplers, lines, CO2 tank, cleaning kit, faucet wrench....etc.

I think we have a winner: http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/kegerators/dualkegerator/kegmaster_two_faucet_kegerator.html

$1374.05   :'(

Delivered + dual tower, dual regulator upgrade, 2 couplings, a 5lb tank & the deluxe cleaning kit (only 4oz cleaner tho). Standard is the steel top, steel tray with drain, steel interior & 2 fans (1 for the tower & 1 for the interior) as well.

Its no True  brand or Bev-Air but it seems good....cant find any info tho, do you have jedi knowledge of it?

Excellent choice.  I took a hard look at them as well, I just cheaped out on a used one.  I think its probably on par with True or Bev-Air.

Where is it going?  Where the fridge used to be?  If so where is the fridge going then?

Yeah the keg replaces the fridge (which I moved into a storage room next to the stairs/bath) & there will be simple shelves on the rear bar wall for the hard stuff.

I am thinking of going into the other storage area behind the wall to the left of my bar & framing out an opening for a small glass front beverage fridge. Thats my idea for now anyway since there is no where for my guest to chill their mixers or etc. It sucks to lose my big ol fridge & all the peanut butter cups, tonic & cheese in it but holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- Im gonna have a dual tap kegerator of goodness instead!!!

The stormtrooper project costs the same.....hmmmm, this is a tough call to make so I better buy that machine asap before I start mannequin shopping.

Honestly your going to miss the large fridge.  If it was me I'd cut out that wall between the front and back bar and make room for the big fridge there.  Not sure how much room you got but if there isn't enough space for a large fridge get the biggest unit you fit there.  You'll be glad u did.

There is a bathroom behind the keg/fridge wall

I am starting to think I should just mod the fridge with a tapper & make a custom shelf so I can have a keg, storage in a fridge & then the stormtrooper  >:D

Damn, I just dont like how that massive honkin fridge closes off my already tiny bar area....

Ahem, Dear PBW you forgot:

Fast Eddies
mama lucias oven baked pizzas - best bang for the buck frozen pizzas you can find in a store.
Andrias steakhouse - best steaks on the planet.  You can even buy their marinade in grocery stores.

And WTF PBJ - turkey brats on whole wheat bread?  You deserve to have spent two days on the toilet for that ridiculousness.  Man up and eat a real brat made from pig snoots and cow hooves.

It's Imos, then everything else. Worst part about moving to Highland a few years ago was no Imos. But at least I can still get it at lunch when I'm at work.

BTW, welcome aboard CapriRS302.

I need to check the calander and see if I can squeeze in a CP's trip this month. The wife was not been sparing the whip with this landscaping crap, I think I've earned a night of dorkery.
You probably remember me from such films as `The Revenge of Abe Lincoln' and `The Wackiest Covered Wagon in the West'
