AdvanceMenu issue - display marquees??
« on: January 18, 2009, 05:31:05 pm »
Short version: has anyone been able to get marquees to display in AdvanceMenu?

Detailed version: according to the Advmenu doc excerpt below, instead of a list/list with snap/snaps, marquees can be displayed in the UI.

---- 5.1.7 preview ----
Selects the type of the images displayed.

[EMULATOR/]preview snap | titles | flyers | cabinets

Options:
EMULATOR/ - Nothing for the default value, or an emulator
name for a specific emulator option.
snap - Files in the `snap' and `altss' dir.
flyers - Files in the `flyers' dir.
cabinets - Files in the `cabinets' dir.
titles - Files in the `titles' dir.

The `icons' and `marquees' images can be selected with the
special `mode' options `tile_icon' and `tile_marquee'.

The problem I've always had is that the template shows up, but no marquees. I would assume that enabling the feature would tell Advmenu to look in the marquees folder, which is in the same directory as Advmenu. It doesn't seem to. The images are unzipped in the marquee folder, and I think a zipped copy is also in the folder. Maybe it wants a zipped folder in the main directory?? I can't for the life of me figure out how else it might look for the files. Anyone know?

been a while since I've look at my setup. But you might need to rename "marquess" to "titles" unless you specfied "titles" to be in "marquess" folder.

I've tried renaming the folder to something else...I've changed the default display and preview folders (of which marquee is not an option, by the way)....no go. It would appear it's necessary to set something to point to a source folder (ridiculous - it should be automatic), and it's not anywhere in the docs that I've seen.

Please send me your advmenu.rc if possible.
