No bearing with arbor bit? Confused...
« on: November 15, 2008, 12:22:39 am »
I purchased a Freud 60-100

http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?D=973244&Ntt=973244&catalogId=10051&langId=-15&storeId=10051&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntx=mode+matchall&recN=0&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber

In some pictures in this forum I notice a bearing piece mentioned and pictured...the 60-100 came with the shaft, nut and about 7 washers but no bearing is that normal? Or is the bearing part of the shaft? Do i buy it seperately?

Any assistance for this router noob would be appreciated (just picked up the router today and 3 wing 1/16" will be picked up tomorrow)!

They don't always come with bearings, I know mine didn't. You will need to purchase one separately. Any BB with a 1/4" inner race will do. I would get a sealed one if i was you, something like [this].

The bearing is sold separately.  You need a ball bearing with 5/16" Inside Diameter and 7/8" Outside Diameter.  This will give you the standard 1/2" depth of cut.  It should run you about $4.00 give or take a buck or two.
