Polo 25" no ground and it's wavy.
« on: October 11, 2008, 06:07:50 pm »
Got my hands on a MKII machine.  It has a Polo 25" monitor installed.  The monitor has a slight wave in it and the audio has a little static.  I was wondering if both of these may be caused by the monitor not having it's ground connected?  It has the hot and neutral, but the ground wire is just hanging in the air.

Also, if I ground the monitor, should I ground it to earth, or something else?

the ground should just bolt to the chassis frame -every bit of metal on your cab should link to the earth of the wall plug

This is the electrical ground.  It has a pin to fit in a molex connector.  It still doesn't matter where I ground it?  I don't have to worry about making sure it goes through the iso tranformer or anything?

normally on the polo chassis the earth goes to the centre pin of the molex plug and is also linked to the monitor frame(although the link is not that important)
the earth should link direct to the earth from the wall socket

polo monitor do not need an isolation tranformer and can be plugged directly to a wall socket
