been 10 years since we had a real snow storm here.
Been more ice storm than anything.
Strange.... I grew up here and we had snow like this almost every winter.
now , more ice than snow.
I have 6 inches out side and 6 more hours of snow coming
To bad All my cabs are up in the garage 
Gave up my arcade room for a my first Grand baby . he/she will be here around Aug 23rd

Very pretty, but I dont like driving in it, so Im staying in today and catching up on some programming.

We've got about 5" of rain here in New England.  My basement had just started to dry out from the previous rain storm, and now it's flooded worse than before.  It figures that after i buy the place we get rainfall rates that are shattering records.     I didn't want to have to spend the extra $2,000 to extend my drainage system, but unless I want my concrete foundation crumbling into nothing and anything in my basement rotting away, I'll have to do it.

I'm sick of all this ---Bad words, bad words, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when saint censors you?--- rain.  Each and every ---smurfing--- week it rains at least a 1/4".  There are literall ponds forming in low lying areas that will probably never drain and will be permanently flooded.  My yard is a mud puddle and all it takes now is a weak wind-storm and trees will come falling down.  At this point, I almost hope one falls on my house I'm so pissed.

We have got a lot of rain this year too. And I also agree that when I was a kid I can remember getting a snow like this one around Christmas every year.
The sun is out now, temp is around 40 F. It's all melting.
But while I was outside taking some pictures to send to my sister in Alabama, I noticed I have a piece of aluminum trim blown loose. Its up high (two story house), so I got to borrow an extension ladder and fix it tomorrow.
I just hope another storm dont blow up by then.

Aug 23? Maybe it will be on Aug 31 (my BD).
If so feel free to name the baby after me.. "DaOld Man" might be a strange name if it's a girl though 
Congrats though, I know you are looking forward to the new baby in the house. My son got married last Oct, so it probably wont be too long until Im a grand dad myself.

It's 60 degrees and sunny here in central florida.

It's 50 degrees and sunny here in CT, but it's also windy as all hell.  As expected, the flooding in my basement has gotten worse.  I've had to take ANYTHING of value and put it at least half a foot off of the floor surface to ensure no water wicks up into them.  My cabinet build is probably going to be on a permanent hold until ALL of the water recedes out of the concrete and drains someplace.  Where?  I have no idea since all the typical drainage areas in my neighborhood are under a few feet of water.  The worst part is that there is nothing I can do about the flooding.  It's water that is wicking up from underneath the concrete slab and then collecting on top of it which is my basement floor.  The only thing I can think of is to jackhammer up my entire concrete slab, remove the stone, put in a vapor barrier, put stone on top of that, put a ton of drainage pipes on top of that, then put a new concrete slab in.  I figure that would cost nearly $40,000 to do and I just can't afford it.

It just figures that after buying my house we get record rainfall here.  In the past four weeks, we've had nearly a foot of rainfall.  My house is basically ruined and there's nothing I can do about it because the insurance companies don't do ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about water problems.  I almost want to burn this place down to get them to pay for it.
