I watched it last night.
I wonder if any of the guys on the movie read this board?
I think that guy Billy (sorry cant recall last name right now) was kinda being a A-hole.
I think he needs to get over himself.

billy mitchell. yeah, but his attitude (and the mullet  ;D) really added to the movie. you always have to have a 'man in the black hat'. for instance, i saw 'no country for old men' the night before kong. how dull would that have been without Chigur, the psychopath?

Ugh, it's a carefully edited movie about a bunch of lightly autistic dorks that survive in society because their families take care of them (Billy included).

Doesn't Billy Mitchell own his own restaurant chain?  I'm pretty sure Steve Wiebe is a high school teacher.

Billy runs a restaurant chain established by his parents.

I don't really respect being handed a turn key operation and keeping it from going under, not as much as creating it yourself.

While I agree, that is still a far drive from "lightly autistic cared for by family".

Being a public school teacher is an even further drive from there.

Surprisingly the dude has a Wikipedia entry.  Wonder where the school teacher thing comes from - that says it too.

Yes, it even shows a couple of clips of Steve in the classroom.
Also Steve has a wife and kids.
Plus, I agree that running a restaurant, even a "passed down one", is a feat in itself.
But I still think the guy was an a-hole on the movie.
If these guys are on this board it would be neat to chat with them.

I just picked this up on DVD the other night.  It does indeed look like Billy Mitchell is an a-hole.  Maybe just how it was edited, but I've heard Billy is actually a nice guy.  I kept trying to justify Billy's actions to the fact that Steve got help from that other guy he got the board from, knowing that there is bad blood between Billy and him.  (The name escapes me)  I enjoyed the movie, and it was nice seeing arcade that have been discussed on the boards here.  I have to make a trip to NH I guess.

I picked up the movie a couple weeks ago and also enjoyed it.  I wasn't expecting it to be a theatrical masterpiece, just an enjoyable watch.  I can't imagine the "Billy is a ---tallywhacker---" thing being the result of editing.  He is either definitely a ---tallywhacker--- or the film makers told him to brush off and purposely avoid Steve when he showed up at the arcade.  Why else would anyone not show some respect/friendliness to a fellow competitor?

I loved it when he finally made an appearance in Florida, Steve was there playing of course, and Billy just strolled by with his wife telling her there's people here I'd rather you not spend alot of time with.  Yeah, that's a ---tallywhacker---.

I thought the same thing first time around, watch it again and you can tell it was cut and edited. Once you realize it, it's pretty funny.

I can't wait to see a Hollywood version of this...   :laugh2:
